"In the 8 months we've lived in our house, we've had 4 plumbers over the course of 10 visits or so and had spent over $1,200 in plumbing fees for people to give us a temporary fix and move on their way. No one could diagnose the source of all the issues we were having. And the issue kept coming back. Home Advisor put us in touch with Chris Roeder and on their FIRST visit, they were able to diagnose the problem and immediately put us on their schedule to get it fixed. We are now up and running with no plumbing issues. Chris and his crew were very courteous, always showed up on time, and explained to us all of the issues they were finding and what needed to be done to fix it. They did an excellent job and we will definitely be using them in the future."

Customers say: Super punctual

"After I You Tubed all the trouble shooting and couldn't figure out my issue i called Kent and he was great even coming out after hours on a week night. Unfortunately for us the issue was actually the plumbing to the main line from the kitchen it was clogged. Atleast Mr. McKinney confirmed that all of our appliances were still functional but he couldn't fix the plumbing issue. He advised us to get some really good liquid drain cleaner and if that didn't work to then call a plumber. Well he was right we poured down the best stuff we could find and it took a day but all is well. We will be using his services again to hook up our ice maker soon =)"

"Samuel is extremely competent, timely, responsive, and transparent. Unfortunately, we had a roof installed a few years ago by a company who cut corners, and STMZ came to repair two separate leaks in the “new” roof. He documented every step of the process with photos, and explained what he was doing. (Most contractors, in my experience, do not take the time to explain the process to you!) I highly recommend his services, and if we ever need to replace the roof, STMZ will be the company we will call."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

PEX pipes last up to 50 years on average, though they often last longer. This lifespan is comparable to that of galvanized steel, which ranges from 40 to 100 years. However, PEX piping is less likely to crack or break due to temperature changes. Due to that and the fact that it's easier to work with, many plumbers and DIYers are choosing PEX tubes over traditional metal piping.

The water pipe from your washing machine is one of the many components that can freeze during winter conditions, causing pipes to burst. Frozen water pipes in your washing machine can result in damage to your machine, plus other unfortunate results like flooding and water damage.

You can replace a spigot handle by unscrewing it from the outdoor faucet. Take the broken handle to a hardware or home improvement store. Ask for a new handle that matches the size of your existing one. Screw the new handle into the place and test the new handle to ensure it works and doesn’t cause any leaks.

Whether an earthquake gas shut-off valve is required depends on your location and circumstances. Certain cities, states, and even insurance providers mandate them, especially in areas with high seismic activity. In California, for example, while laws vary by county, most jurisdictions require a valve to be installed in newly constructed homes or when a home is sold or renovated. The Los Angeles Municipal Code specifically requires a licensed contractor for installation. Even if not required by law, installing a seismic shut-off valve is a wise safety measure. These devices automatically cut off the flow of gas during an earthquake, which can prevent gas leaks, fires, and explosions. It is recommended to check with your local building department for specific laws regarding installation, permitting, and inspections, and to ensure the valve you install is on your city's list of approved models.

Local plumbing codes and manufacturer recommendations typically dictate the minimum distance between a sink and a dishwasher. This is generally 18 to 24 inches, providing enough room for easy loading and unloading of dishes without hindering the sink's function. Maintaining this separation not only adds convenience but also reduces the chances of water damage and optimizes plumbing connections.
