"We are very happy with our newly-tiled bathroom. Dean was a quick communicator and Raul and Manuel were awesome. The job took two less days than originally quoted, and they also came back a few weeks later to install our new vanity and touch up grout."

"I had bathtub, shower replaced. The workers were clean, polite and professional. William and his partner Keilo?? were the best I have ever had to come out and do any work on my house! I didn't have to clean up anything after they left. Just put my small items such as lotion, cleaning etc. back in place."

"Our home has pickled oak throughout and it has been our dream to replace (rip out and burn!) it all ever since we bought our home. When we did our research and found out that we could not afford all new cabinetry, the professionals at Jericho suggested glazing the cabinets as an affordable alternative. While we were very hesitant at first, we could not be more satisfied with the results. And the complements we have recieved since the work was completed confirms we made the right decision.
They were quick to respond to my questions and gave me frequent updates on the progress and project timeline. My happiness with the process was a top priority with everyone involved. I was expessially impressed that even though we weren't hiring them for a total remodel of the bathrooms, we never felt like a second rate customer.

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Installing a clawfoot tub with a minimum of 6 inches of clearance from surrounding walls allows ample room for the faucet and pipework, makes cleaning easier, and reduces the chance of moisture being trapped between the tub and the walls. It might need to be closer if the faucet comes directly out of the wall.

You can put a structure under your bathtub for support. Many modern tubs come with a built-in support structure underneath. Almost any type of mortar or floor-leveling compound is acceptable for new bathtubs that don’t include a support structure.

You can also install spray foam under an existing bathtub to eliminate or reduce squeaking or sagging. However, spray foam isn’t rigid enough for primary tub support.

While Medicare will pay for some bathroom modifications, it won’t pay for all modifications done to help make the room more accessible for older adults. Plus, the improvements must be approved in advance, or they won’t cover the upgrade. Check well in advance of construction if you have coverage for grab bars, walk-in tubs, wider doorways, higher toilets, and more.

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.

Technically, yes, you can put a shower on a Roman tub, but it's not common. The vast majority of Roman tubs are standalone models. Adding a shower would involve installing a ceiling-mounted curtain rod or a custom glass enclosure, as well as redoing the plumbing, making it neither easy nor budget-friendly.
