"Excel told they could replace my roof without any leaking. First time it rained it started leaking in 1 spot. They came out next morning and attempted to fix saying it was probably from high winds while raining and put a little more sealant on a joint but now it’s leaking again and it’s not raining that hard nor much wind this time. I will follow up to let everyone know if they get this fixed. My confidence is fading and if you got a new roof from Excel Metal roofing I wouldn’t just assume it’s not leaking, investigate and pop a few panels to see it there are any signs of leaking, just b/c you can’t see it does not mean it’s dry underneath!"

It’s a good idea to open your pool when the outdoor temperature sits consistently above 65 to 70 degrees (F). The best temperature to paint a pool deck is between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, because many paints and sealers require temperatures warm enough for the chemical reaction to take place for proper curing. The paint should not be allowed to freeze, and temperatures above 90 degrees can cause the paint to dry too quickly, also preventing the chemical reaction from following through to completion.

Most importantly, you should never cut corners when building a pool. Whether it’s an in-ground or aboveground, poorly constructed pools are dangerous to both the swimmers and your property. Leaks can even lead to home foundation damage. While you can DIY smaller elements of pool installation, always hire a contractor to oversee the process.

The best time to run a pool pump is during the warmest hours of the day. Algae needs sunlight to grow and sunlight depletes chlorine. With that in mind, it’s best to run your pump during daylight hours to discourage algae growth and ensure proper pool chemistry. Keep in mind you don’t have to run your pump continuously for eight hours. Try running for a few hours in the morning then shutting it off and running it for a few hours in the afternoon. 

Don’t worry if your pool is still cloudy right after shocking it. Some shocking products will leave your pool cloudy for a day or so after using them. However, if your pool is still cloudy several days after shocking it, it could be due to poor filtration, low chlorine, or one of the other problems outlined above.
