Mark is a con man who steals from his clients. He took $44,000 of my Money to remodel our basement, main bathroom and a French drain. He lies constantly and has not completed any of those jobs that I made a down payment. He left my house in shambles and guttered out everything. I signed a contract with him in 2023 and he has not returned to finish the jobs. His workers are inexperienced and really have no skill. He needs to be on the Hall of Shame so he can be known throughout Michigan. He stole my money and left me with these incomplete jobs. He does not answer any calls and lies about completing my basement, main bathroom and French drain.. Mark needs to repay me my money. He's signing all his contracts with INC so he can not be sued because his name is not on the contract. He needs to be stopped so he does not steal money from anyone else. This company is owned by Mark and his brother Ray Clements. Be aware this company has no money. So don't hire him.

Signed a contract in FEB 2024 for basement finishing. Provided Mark with a 30% down payment to start procuring materials, permits, etc. Contacted him in APR 2024 to inquiry about permits and start date. Gave excuses, upon excuses on why he has no communication, didn't start, etc. Terminated the contract because of his unresponsiveness, lies, etc. Requested MONEY back and he has refused. Therefore, he has a large sum of money and NO services performed. Judgement received against him and still has not provided return of funds. He has had our money for almost a year and still trying to fight to get it back. Crook.

Unfortunately, our time has come to an end. You have been unable to complete finish projects in a timely manner. You misrepresented your company and financials to have the ability to complete our project. Your cabinet company also does not return calls, I have not received a copy of the life insurance policy that you took out to secure the loan plus all the additional issues that have not been completed or resolved. Such as: For the loan, you were credited only $8,000 for services to be performed which have not been completed and the first payment bounced. You said the loan of approximately $185,000 would be paid off by November so you are way behind in payments. My bathroom Installation of the Washer/Dryer DeVillen is months behind and we have prepaid for many aspects of the scope of the project that have not been completed. The cabinets we have not yet established where they are being stored. Additionally, framing was paid for back in March 2024 and we have no idea where they are. We also prepaid for services that were never performed. These delays will end up costing us a lot of money We will do a final audit on the monies owed to us. If there is anything you would like to resolve, any of these issues or projects that you want to complete before we turn over the projects to others please let us know. So you no longer have access to the property effective immediately

MHRAC owes his vendors money. He is a con artist. After his initial sales pitch and full court press, he will try to add costs to your job through changes. He will lie and try to collect money before any work is complete. He will try to collect on payment milestone and show up on Friday and ask for payment on partially complete milestones trying to convince you that it is basically done. He will get upset if questioned. The product is Poor quality work. His employees and subs are not very strong or experienced. They have no clue what they are doing and There is very poor communication between Mark and these guys. You will only see Mark when he needs money. On my job he hired undocumented and unlicensed workers and claimed that the work was going to cost more and wanted to be paid an extra $4500. This was a lie first of all and second, not part of the contract. The scope never changed. He worked numerous schemes after that to try to get paid more money, or even twice for things he already collected. He will not complete the the contracted work. No matter how much is owed at the end, he is not interested in finishing, he is just scheming to try to get you to pay as much as he can get before final payment. He will attempt to get you to pay him when he orders materials toward the end of a job, especially larger ticket items. Like a custom door, shower glass and such. Except he will stiff the fabricators, keep your money and never come back to finish. That is his track record and I have a long list of references that have been cheated by him if you need examples. This guy is a complete con man, is dishonest, is fraudulent and hires unqualified, undocumented and non licensed workers who perform shoddy workmanship. On one occasion he attempted to knowingly over order expensive construction finish materials that I purchased directly on my credit card from a vendor. He had me order them because his credit is no good in many places. When called out about the quantity purchased, he admitted it was 4X the amount (over $1200 in additional materials) that he obviously tried to get away with having for other or future jobs. When he returned the materials, he did not have them credited back to me - pretty sketchy. Do not hire this company or this person. The work is horrible, he is dishonest. Do not be fooled by his early demeanor and responses he is not that person. He has a million excuses. Pathologically believes each of his lies. I have just described what happened with my experience so you know exactly who he is. I have talked to many other former clients now who were also conned and provided horrible work - all the same behaviors.

Mark tried to execute a structural engineering plan to repair a kneewall that was damaged from missing roof flashing from a bad roofing job 14 years earlier. The kneewall holds up my master bedroom exterior wall, which is above my garage. The original kneewall degraded over time from getting wet, and it was NOT replaced in its entirety or in part. Instead, a large steel I-beam was installed below the kneewall, which ran down the middle of my 2-car garage ceiling, as well as another I-beam over the garage door that formed a â Tâ with the first I-beam. The 2nd I-beam was supported to ground by 7 vertical wood 2x4â s on either end of the beam which ran across the top of the entire length of the 2-car garage door. The other end of the main horizontal I-beam under the kneewall was also supported by several wood 2x4â s and one 4x4, again not imbedded but just sitting on the concrete floor behind the interior garage drywall. The truss system of the wood kneewall was left intact and none of the diagonal truss boards were replaced. Some of the lateral 2â x4â triangular lateral supports were replaced. This was a huge mistake to not replace the wet kneewall wood pieces - essentially not removing the damage. Both steel beams were only being held up with 8 ft. wood boards sitting on ground upright and not steel poles embedded into footers, how basement steel poles are embedded which hold up basement I-beams. These were the material construction errors. On top of that, and perhaps the biggest error was that when the beams were installed, force was applied vertically all at once, to try to reverse the sagging that occurred over the past 15 years, and this caused major structural issues into the exterior walls and floors, as well as interior wall structure, drywall, and flooring throughout the upstairs and some downstairs areas. I now have even bigger issues than previously with floors and walls creaking and cracking over 3 years after the work was done, due to residual stress. This is extremely stressful and I would not wish this upon any customer out there. Now you have both personable and work quality information. Mark was over his head on this project and should never have never done what he did. The plan provided by the structural engineer was flawed, Mark did not acknowledge or even think that the plan was flawed. And now he knows it. He never responds back and does not admit his mistakes. My wife and I have been under tremendous stress and are trying to salvage our home. Please get a second or third opinion depending upon the complexity of the work involved. Mark may be fine for some renovations, but beware of intense structural work. For a lot of home projects that involve structure, issues may not show up for a few years after the work is done.

The project took a lot longer than expected. We are satisfied with the overall quality work. However, a project manager is desperately needed by MHRAC. A lot of direction was given to the crew as they were not informed by the owner or equipped with plans.

Extremely satisfied about Mark and his team, they knocked down all walls and communized kitchen, dining and living in one big floor space â it was Markâ s idea - he was convinced about the potential and the added value, I trusted him & we went for it â my wife and I are super happy about the end result. This was a 4 months project including removal of 2 huge structural beams â the gain in â lightâ inside of the house is amazing â the renovation included new cabinets, new appliances, central peninsula , electric/HVAC back to code and new floor. This project was our first one â Mark and I prepared every step well ahead â he installed me a secondary kitchen and living space downstairs - so that we could continue have a normal life during that fall. It was not easy, the market circumstances and labor were challenging, but trough a constructive regular dialogue, Mark was able to deliver what was agreed and on time. I would definitely recommend Mark and his company â he has some really strong leaders working with him.

Very frustrating experience. Poor quality materials and workmanship. Extremely unreliable and constantly lies about when things will be completed. Very long delays but constantly asks for payment even before milestones are achieved. You have to be very involved and continuously check things yourself or otherwise topics will not be fixed. Did not finish the job once final payment was given. Would no recommend.

This is the 3rd or 4th project I have had MHRAC do for us and we are very happy with the work they do! We had them rip up carpet and install vinyl plank flooring all through our first floor and they did an amazing job in two days! Their attention to detail is on point! The guys are very friendly and easy to work with, We have had Jacob, Mark and Jim work at our house now for multiple projects and every time I am pleased with the work they do! They are honestly the reason we keep using them and will continue to use them for all future home projects and improvements!

We hired MHRAC twice. The first time for kitchen renovation and the second time for bathroom renovation. Mark was well organized and consistent in completing the projects on time. His quality of work was great. He met with all our demands. We would certainly recommend his service to our friends and family.

I am relatively new to the home renovation world. I have big dreams, a tight budget, and few connections when it comes to home improvement projects. Due to my limited understanding of home renovations, I was afraid that I would be taken advantage of. I decided to go with MHRAC after reading their reviews. I took a leap of faith and it paid off. MHRAC helped my fiancé and I renovate our basement to create more livable space in our Royal Oak bungalow home. Environmental incontrollable did create timeline challenges along the way. No matter the obstacle MHRAC maintained strong communication and made sure to address my concerns. This basement renovation was a big project; many talented individuals coming in and out of my home. Everyone was knowledgeable and took time to answer my questions. I constantly felt that I was made a priority and my satisfaction was sought after. MHRAC did a phonemical job with the basement renovation. They brought my dream laundry room to life and created custom under stairwell storage for craft supplies. Not only did they turn our basement renovation dreams into a reality they stayed within the budget we set at the very beginning! I am so happy that I took that leap of faith because I found a company that will put people first! I have already asked MHRAC to help with our next home renovation project, the bathroom.

The project involved removing existing 18 ft beams on first and second floor and replacing with steel beams. Did a great job on a difficult project. Once started, they worked on the job every day and it was done very quickly with minimum disruption.

We were underway with a mostly cosmetic project when structural problems were identified that were anticipated to hold up the project significantly. I called Mark and he came for an estimate the same day and was actually able to complete the full repair in less than a week allowing our other project to proceed as planned. We look forward to keeping Mark and MHRAC on speed dial for larger work sometime soon!

I hired Mark and his team to repair some pretty severe structural problems with my home. I have an older home with an addition. The strut on the addition had begun to sag under its own weight and it wasn't properly founder. MHRAC did a great job repairing the structure and replacing a load bearing beam. The house feels infinitely more stable now. Additionally, they did a great job repairing the deck and steps near the addition. Overall I am extremely satisfied with their work and would definitely bhire them again

The actual workers and the quality of the work were fantastic however do not count on the promises about when they are going to show up to complete the work it took lots of nudging. Look at the final estimate carefully to make sure you are not being charged for you have stated you do not want. basically I got stuck putting in five smoke detectors I did not want for $500

We hired mark and his team to redo our laundry/mud room. I had a vision of what I wanted and explained it to mark when he first came out to give and estimate. After getting 2 other estimates they were not only the best priced but were the ones that were able to start sooner and get the job done in the shortest time fame. We had them install cabinets above and below the washer and dryer along with having them do a custom cubby/bench area. They did a great job and listen to all of the requests I had while the project was in works. My husband and I are extremely pleased with the finish product and will look to hire them in the future when we go to do other updates in our house.

MHRAC did a beautiful job with our complete kitchen remodel. The design Mark brought to the table was what set his company apart from the others. We had 3 main goals at the top of the list, they were trust, second was function, and third was staying within budget. No construction project is without its challenges. Kitchen remodels challenge your patience and tolerance because of the effects on a homes daily function. As we moved through the various construction phases we saw what this team is made of. What Mark and his team deliver is honesty, integrity and a willingness to meet the various challenges head on, all while delivering a beautiful product.

Everyone has a different experience, but for us, hiring Mark and his company MHRAC was the worst decision we made regarding our renovation, if not ever. We hired him in October and paid a substantial amount of money at that point, even though we were scheduling for work to start in January/February. After 7 months of * working * we terminated our relationship as work was not completed, and what was done was poor. I understand this overlaps with the pandemic, but Mark left us stranded during that time as we had vacated our house for 5 months for him. We were given lots of excuses but never given priority. He told us repeatedly that our job * would not make him a Rockefeller * and we were treated accordingly. He and his team had no respect for our property or home. I had to micromanage the project to catch and correct all of the mistakes, for which he had excuses and always wanted praise when he fixed his errors. He also had no problem disrespecting us under our own roof. It was the stereotypical contractor nightmare, always available when he wanted money and couldnt get the job done. No communication, no quality assurance, poor quality. In addition, he and his buddy at Marble and Granite Works took the liberty of not using a slab of granite that we hand picked, but instead installed one from his backyard, that we now sit and have dinner at every night. I could go on and on, but the point is it was a waste of time, money, and quality of life hiring Mark. Well be complaining to the BBB and will never use Home Advisor again.
