Because of laws requiring that window glass be replaced by tempered glass, they replaced my broken pane with plexiglass and told me that they would order the tempered glass and replace it later. When I called to find out the status of the glass order, they told me that given the small size of the pane, tempered glass was neither required nor available. However, because they didn't know this at the time they put in the plexiglass, they replaced the plexiglass with standard glass for free (parts and labor.) I was extremely appreciative that they recognized this and made it completely right."

That makes it difficult for me to work on it, so I specifically asked for a Generic windshield. The sound insulation is better so that I don't hear outside noises (ie, trucks, Harleys) as much. "I hired The Patio Door Guys to install a new patio door for me ( a sliding door, 5 by 7 feet with sliding screen door). I had hired them previously to install a new front door, and I was so happy with it I had them come back to do the patio door. They came promptly and did an excellent job. It turned out my old patio door had been very unlevel, so they leveled the opening before putting in the new door. They put new siding around the new patio door on the outside, and put new trim on the inside around the door. The trim looks like a luxury to me, since the old door did not even have inside trim. The new door is an Alside brand door, and it is clearly very good quality. It slides nice and smooth and the lock works well. It takes up much more width than the "builder grade" door I had before, so I know it will have good insulation properties in the winter. It is designed to not collect so much dirt in the bottom track of the door. The screen door also has a lock. Everything was installed perfectly and they took the old door to dispose of it. The owner of the company was there on the job, supervising and working along with two other carpenters. The communication with me was very good before, during and after the installation. Tom even did some trim work and floor work in another area of my condo at no charge, just as an extra to help me out. Two other people in my condo complex have already asked about my new door, so I recommended The Patio Door Guys since I think they do such great work, and at a reasonable price. I would definitely hire them again for any patio door, outside door or window work in the future. "

"Brennan did a great job.  The original plan was to remove the storm windows in order to have the best access.  However, it turns out that once MAC puts storm windows on your house, they are there to stay!  Brennan was willing and able to work around this obstacle and the windows look great.  The interior work was also excellent.  It's impossible to see where the ceiling was patched.
