"The team educated me on my fireplace as I moved into a home where I have never had a real fire place before. It was super helpful to know how to properly use my fireplace and how to do so safely. Would recommend to a friend and would use again"

Small jobs welcome

"Albert, Able Chimney specialist came to clean our Chimney and he was extremely professional and an excellent communicator. He explained what he was doing and what he found in a very efficient and easily understood way. He was very respectful and did a great job keeping everything clean. I would Highly Recommend Albert and Able Chimney. The receptionist Kristin does a wonderful job as well. I am thankful that we had this service done by Alert with Able as we learned our fireplace needs a new liner in order to be use, otherwise if we had used our fireplace we would have had a house fire. Thank You."

"Our replacement deck is stunning. A stainless steel cable railing was painstakingly installed and great attention to detail is evident in the finished project's outcome. We were so satisfied, we hired Carter Custom to install a new gas fireplace and refurbish our old one,"

Customers say: Quick response

"Randy, did a great job. The various cracks in the brick mortar of our outside two-story garage wall had worried us for some time. He was professional and thorough and cleaned up after as if he wasn't even there. The brick looks great again. We highly recommend Unique Masonry."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Most projects take 5-10 days, including foundation work, masonry, and finishing.

Clean regularly, check for cracks, and inspect the chimney annually for safety.

If you haven’t had your chimney cleaned in some time, soot and grime can build up, making it difficult for the lever to release to close the flue. When this happens, locate the lever and clean it thoroughly. If this doesn’t help, consult with a fireplace repair pro to examine it for you.

Pellet stoves do require electricity to power their automated features, such as the pellet feeder, fans, and digital controls. However, their electricity consumption is relatively low compared to other household appliances. During a power outage, pellet stoves equipped with battery backup systems or manual ignition options can still operate, though fans and automatic feed mechanisms may not function. Have a backup heating plan in place for these situations, especially if you live in a region prone to severe weather events.

For many people, the primary disadvantage of a gas fireplace insert is that it doesn’t look or smell like a classic wood-burning fire. Additionally, the labor costs of installing a gas insert are higher than some other types of fireplace inserts, including electric and pellet inserts. There are also limitations on where you can install ventless gas fireplaces because they’re banned in certain places (including California).
