"We had plans drawn up prior to contacting Higgins Construction. We put a lot of thought into the plans to get the layout right so it was a matter of building out the designs. We dealt mostly with Mike and he was professional and responsive to our questions and concerns. He delivered on his promises and they completed the work weeks ahead of the estimated completion date.
We have uncommon wall thickness and there was an issue with two door jambs being too thin, I was particularly concerned about one of the doors because it was located in the dining room. Mike replaced it when I told him I was concerned about the aesthetics of it, particularly because the dining room would be used for entertaining.
I wish a little more attention was given to picking up small pieces of steel resulting from wrapping the soffits and fascia, but some of that is unavoidable during construction and they were doing quality work so I didn?t mention it. On one or two occasions the house was unlocked when I got home and once the lock box was left open.  I wish they would have done a walk-around to confirm the house was secure prior to leaving for the day.
Overall I think the project went very well and some of my concerns are just a fact-of-life with remodeling. We are very happy with the results and I will definitely consider Higgins Construction for future construction jobs.

"This is our third project with Champion. In our old home on Minneapolis- we had a complete replacement project. It was an amazing experience. In our new home, we this will be our second project- which when done equals, 13 windows replaced and an entire front entry (door, 2 side lites, 1 transom). From our sales rep, Wes, to the team that does the final measurement, to installations, it is nothing but professionalism. I also cannot say enough about how great the comfort 360 glass is and how easy the windows are clean! Thank you Champion Windows and Wes!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

The best (and safest) glass for glass walls is tempered and laminated glass. These types of glasses work well for walls because they are durable against impact and heat.

Generally, large bathroom mirrors that have been secured to the wall with glue require a multistep removal process. By taping the mirror with masking tape or duct tape, you can potentially prevent dangerous shards from falling as you loosen the mirror. A heat gun or other heat source may be needed to loosen up the glue before it can be freed using a wire saw. With glued-down mirrors being the most dangerous to remove, it's wise to hire a professional instead of handling glass on your own.

You can still see vaguely into some types of glass block windows at night. Although there won’t be clear definitions, passersby may still see shapes, shadows, and movement through the glass. If you want complete privacy, consider installing diamond glass block windows rather than the typical clear or wavy glass blocks.

The best tool for DIYers to use to cut glass is a glass cutter, which can either use a straight blade or a sharp cutting wheel to score glass. Once you score the lines you want to cut, elevate the scored line over a pivot point and apply light, even pressure to both sides. Make sure you wear protective gloves and glasses to stay safe during the process.

Replacing a glass pane is much less expensive than replacing your entire window. The average person will pay between $180 and $400 to replace a glass window pane. This price can vary based on a ton of factors, including labor costs in your area, special window treatments, and the number of panes on your window.
