"Great! Wesley hauled away everything I asked him to, and when he found out that I was a military veteran, he gave me a discount. Super individual!!!"

"I bought an Angie's List deal from All Day Haul Away for $99 (prepaid); they said by phone that my oversized piece would probably require an extra charge. Four months later when I called for a pickup, it was made by a business called Junk Genius (a subcontractor of All Day Haul Away?). Junk Genius's standard charge is $95, slightly less than the cost of the Angie's List deal I had already paid. Junk Genius said nothing about the load being oversized. Next time, I would try calling Junk Genius first."

"Jeff is a great guy. He has a resume of experience working for other companies with big rigs and junk removal previously to owning this business. He makes sure the property is not damaged by his equipment to the best of human ability. He keeps it clean and has a good sense of humor when talking with him. I’d recommend him to anyone even in the tightest of spaces to contend with."

Small jobs welcome

"I would highly recommend Olo Hauling. He was very professional, friendly, and did a great job. I was moving and had a bunch of large items to be hauled to the dump. He was more than helpful and I greatly appreciate the service that he provides."

Hauling questions, answered by experts

Who is responsible for construction debris removal depends on the language in the construction contract. Usually, the contractor is responsible for removal rather than the homeowner. However, removal and disposal tend to come with additional fees that should be listed as line items in the initial estimate. This way, the homeowner can negotiate and decide whether or not to DIY.

Small vans, box trucks, and portable storage containers are options. Choose based on the size and type of move.

Wood is a very versatile material, so you can either compost it, use it for firewood, turn it into wood chips, or save it for future projects. If you don’t want excess wood cluttering your garage or workspace, you can call local community centers or schools to see if they have a need for it.

Follow the instructions of your dumpster company to pack it correctly, both for safety and efficiency. In most cases, bulk items are best at the bottom, and smaller items fill in the gaps. Try to balance the weight of your dumpster by filling the base end-to-end before piling anything else on top. Additionally, never fill the dumpster higher than the top rim so your team can safely transport it to the dump.

There are several ways to dispose of excess sod, including building a compost pile, taking it to a green waste disposal facility, donating the sod, or reusing it in another part of your yard. It’s a good idea to check with your local municipality to see how to get rid of yard waste, as some areas have local regulations on what can go in the green waste bin. For example, your recycling services may reject too much soil added to green waste.
