Air Comfort took the time to figure out how to get the consistent heating needed and knew where to add runs and returns to eliminate drafty areas.
They are very thorough... be aware, if they deliver the quote in person you may have to sit through a long (60 min) pitch that talks about their 17-point hit-list on why they are the best. If you're in a hurry, tell them ahead of time and they'll speed up the process a bit. All-in-all, it's all valid stuff. In this case, they had me before they started as their solution was a better mechanical one than the other guys.
The installers were clean, friendly and polite. No issues on install day. I was home all-day working in my home office and I hardly heard a peep. After the install the system layout was explained and all preventative maint issues addressed.
The result was really great. The variable-speed fan means there's always air flowing which eliminated the cool spots - I can now fully use my lower level again. System runs quiet and city inspector passed it with no issue. He said "They always do a good job"
"[member name removed] got the install they wanted at the price we agreed on. I would like to take each issue and respond to it. First the thermostat literature. It does state commercial on it. That is because the thermostat they choose can be used for commercial use. Second, I did state the install could be done in one day, but the night before they asked to add custom duct work. I told them we would talk about it in the morning and I would give them a price. The next morning I looked at what they wanted, gave them a price and that day I made them aware of the fact that an extra day would be needed to complete the whole job. The first day we did the bulk of the work and the second day we made some changes that [member name removed] wanted and completed the installation. Third, after the install I got a call from [member name removed] stating that the duct work came loose. [member name removed] and I talked about a day that would be best for both of us and our installer went to his home and found that a temporary 1/2 inch screw didn't get replaced with the 1 inch screw. We made the repair and apologized for the mistake. At the time of the repair, [member name removed] was suppose to give the installer the signed paperwork, so that we could get paid. [member name removed] did not. I called him, set up a time that was convenient for him and met him at the time he requested. He said he was not happy. He brought up the broken garden hose, commercial literature, the extra time the install took, and the duct work separation. I didn't know anything about the garden hose and asked him if I could see it, which he refused to show it to me. I still offered to replace it. Because they added the custom duct work, another day was needed to do that. I explained that we are human and apologized again for the wrong size screw causing the separation of the duct. I asked him if there was anything I could do to make him happy and he said "no". At that point I was confused as to why he was so unhappy, we did the install the way he wanted, made all the changes he wanted, did it at the price we agreed to and did it in the time frame that I explained that we needed to do the extra work. I told [member name removed] to give me a call anytime if he came up with something that would make him happy. Now, two and a half months later, [member name removed] sends a complaint and wasn't even involved in the final conversation. Our company takes pride in quality installations of high quality Trane equipment. I invite you to read the other reviews from our many very satisfied customers."
