This project had to be done so we would be able to use the classroom the following Sunday. J&M came in and removed the wall, installed a support beam, and finished the project so the two rooms looked like they had always been a single room. "When we signed the Matrix contract in June 28,2018 for basement work we were told it would be done the end of October or the first of November 2018. We told them that was good because we go to Arizona the end of December 2018. When we left all that was done was rough: framing, plumbing, electrical and ceiling. In May 2019 Matrix started work again and finally June 17, 2019 the final inspection was done. If Matrix overbooked jobs, Matrix should let the customer the customer know and not leave them hanging. Being overbooked was probably why the drywall job and the soffit run to cover the ceiling beam was less than professional. "Bob returned my call on Thursday, 6/19/14 at 1p. It sounded to me like he was coming right over to inspect the hole. I waited 7 hours; then finally called him to say it was after 8p and I wanted to eat dinner, etc. The TV was playing in the background. He'd forgotten. He apologized and said he'd come by at 9a the next morning (Friday, 6/20/14). And he did.
In the meantime, I went to my shed an got my dog's wading pool, hauled it to the attic, and placed it under the hole in the roof.
After Bob inspected the hole from inside the attic, he gave me an verbal estimate of $125 and said he'd fit me in some time the following week. By Friday of the next week (6-27-14), I called Bob. He said he'd fix my roof early next week.
On Monday, 6/30/14, Bob rings the doorbell at 5p. He didn't call ahead of time, because he hadn't written down my phone number.
The job took an hour. He used my ladder, broom, scrap wood board, and shingles.
He had quoted $125. He asked for $150.
I paid the $150 and did not use the Angie's List coupon (I had forgotten to mention that I had printed one off on the day he made his quote so it was invalid).
June had been a really hot, sticky month. Bob had mentioned that he was really, really busy. He was always up-beat. I understood the delays but wished he had remembered my name and number instead of me having to call him back. He was the only person who was even interested in fixing my roof. The original roofing firm would not return my calls. (Too small of a job?)
Bob's assistant went above and beyond. While he was waiting for Bob to inspect the hole from on top of the roof, he brushed small branches, etc. from off the roof and then swept the debris from the gutters. <AWESOME!> (The neighbor's big oak trees drop a lot of branches, leaves, limbs on my roof. Thus, the hole in the roof.)
I'm glad the hole is fixed and would use Bob again (even with his quirks).

"Excellent service, to say the least!  I ordered a 20kW Generac generator from a nationwide distributor and had it shipped directly to my location.  I poured the concrete pad myself, and bolted the generator down.  While somewhat proficient with electrical wiring, I did not trust that I could do this job without issue.  I contacted VanderHyde (they were listed as the primary West Michigan Generac Dealer) and asked if they could do the wiring for me.  Ryan Hyde came out for the quote and spent nearly two hours at my house talking about the transfer switch.  Generac provided a 200 amp switch, but my house was wired for 150.  We agreed that I would give them my 200 amp automatic transfer switch, and they would order a 150 amp switch as a replacement......and I would cover the split cost.....essentially adding $360 on to my bill.  I was fine with that.  Jason did the install on 11-16-2012 and spent 8.5 hours outside.  One trip to Lowes/Home Depot was needed for additional parts to tie into the existing power meter.  A great guy - I asked numerous questions and he explained what he was doing as he worked.  Once done, he came inside and asked if I wanted to be present for the "firing up" up the generator.  Overall the price was a bit high, but I also understand that I did not purchase the generator from them.  I was able to get the generator new for a little over $5000 online, which resulted in a large overall cost savings....so I expected to pay a bit more for the work I did not feel confident in doing myself.  I felt they did an amazing job and I would gladly call them again as needed for additional electrical work.  One a side note, I lost my original installation paperwork in a basement flood two years ago.  I called the company and had a copy of all paperwork in my email inbox in less than five minutes.  NICE!  Please note:  This review will be listed under "water softeners" and I cannot find a way to change it!
