"We got a free estimate on Monday from Joseph and Hayden (Roofing Inspector and Sales Reps) and our roof was replaced that same Friday—can’t ask for better service! They explained the roof’s condition, how Victors stands out (materials and attic ventilation), and that they offer a free annual assessment after completion. Supplies and a dumpster arrived Thursday. On install day, they protected our property. Darryl, our project manager, kept us informed throughout. Sergio and his crew started around 6 am and finished before 6 pm, replacing all shingles and redecking about half of our 1409+ sq ft roof in one day. Afterward, Shelbi (production admin) quickly responded to our request for more photos. We’re so thankful for our new roof with a 25-year leak-free guarantee!"

"I had a roof leak that was leaking into my bathroom. Michael called me right away and looked at it the same day. They replaced that section of my roof before it rained again. The crew was very professional and friendly. The roof looks great. BTW the other companies i called never got back to me, and the job is done. Glad I hired them."

"Perfection metal roofing replaced my old and damaged roof with a brand new metal roof that looks fantastic and functions great. Their customer service was excellent and the price they gave me was less than half of what comparable contractors were quoting me!"

"We had such a remarkable experience with this company. We had employee Cooper that helped with insurance and was so very professional and kept us up to date at all times. Cooper worked with our insurance as we are well into our 60s and do not know much about roofs. He was thorough and cannot say enough good things about our experience. All the staff is wonderful right down to scheduling team. Thank You Sandra from Pinckney"

If you are looking for a company to do a remodel or construction, I have one bit of advice for you:  Get yourselves on Jim's work list as fast as possible, because this company is so excellent that they are going to be backed up for months.  Word is spreading about New Image Remodeling, and that word is, "Integrity".  This is a quality highly sought after and difficult to find in this day and age.

Our project was daunting in many ways.  We purchased an old underground home and wanted (needed) to completely gut it and re-do everything.  Particular problems were:  How to wire in new ceiling lights when the ceiling is concrete with no attic space and the homeowner doesn't want a dropped ceiling;  How to run new plumbing when the floors and walls are concrete with no crawl space;  How to hide wiring and venting when concrete walls and ceilings provide no access;  How to assess and mitigate roofing problems when there are two feet of dirt on top of the roof connected to mansard roof lines.  And perhaps most difficult of all for a construction company:  How to deal with homeowners who were penny pinchers and wanted to do a good bit of the work themselves.  We actually had two other companies who would not work with us because we planned to do the tiling, some electric, all the painting, etc. (to be clear we have renovated several homes, but still it could be difficult to work things out).

When we had our first meeting with Jim, I worried that the scope of the project might cause him doubt.  But in his calm and considerate way, he took it all in stride and I could see that his wheels were already turning to figure out the puzzles that the house presented.  Throughout the project the communication was excellent.  Jim stayed in close contact, let me know well ahead of time when workers would be showing up, pushed the schedule up whenever possible, and called or emailed back within hours when I had questions or concerns.

When we decided to purchase our own bathroom fixtures, shower, vanity, toilets, rather than have the company provide them, it was no problem at all.  When I decided to add more work and new ideas to the list, no problem.  When I deleted work from the list, no problem.  The contractors he provided were among the best in their fields and their work was excellent.  Every last one of them were punctual, polite and efficient.  They became friends and I missed them when they left.  New Image started the project ahead of schedule, finished ahead of schedule, and came in under budget.  Jim presented us with a final review before the final payment, laying out the (many) changes we had requested, and deducted charges where we had deleted work or purchased our own supplies or fixtures.  Honesty.  You can trust this guy.

To sum it up, our remodel experience with New Image was...enjoyable!  How often do you hear that about construction or remodel?  Jim and his company have our deepest thanks and complete faith.  We will definitely be contacting him again when we move into "stage two" of the project in a year or two.  I would recommend them to everyone I know, and Jim is welcome to use us as a reference if asked.  So stop researching, friendly reader, and call him now.  Seriously.  He's booked out for months.

Roofing questions, answered by experts

A roof pitch that’s too shallow won’t shed runoff as quickly, so you have an increased risk of water intrusion through the seams between your roofing materials. In colder climates, snow and ice will accumulate more easily on your roof, which can add enough weight to cause roof collapse and structural damage to your home.

There are two main types of roofing shingles: 3-tab and architectural. Architectural shingles cost more than 3-tab but offer a more unique look and can last longer. However, 3-tab shingles are lightweight and affordable, and many people use them for both patching roofs and installing new roofs. Ultimately, the best type for you depends on your budget and your home’s aesthetic.

Yes, clay and concrete tile roofs will keep your home cooler in the summer for two reasons. First, the material has low heat conductivity, so heat transfer from the sunlight and the outside air to your home will be very slow. Additionally, tile roofs have air gaps between the tiles and the roof decking, which helps further insulate your structure from heat gain. Light-colored tile is especially energy-efficient and will minimize how much outside heat transfers into your home.

A square of shingles covers 100 square feet and usually ranges from 150 to 240 pounds. It all depends on the material and type of shingle.

Replacing older chimneys or fireplaces, like wood-burning stoves, with something more eco-friendly can actually increase the value of your home. Some homeowners opt to remove chimneys as they pursue LEED certification, which may also increase the value of your home. But in general, many potential buyers actually look for operational fireplaces in homes, so removing a chimney and fireplace could decrease your home’s value by up to $5,000.
