"The encapsulation went very well. The workers removed existing insulation and did a nice job putting up new insulation. They also sprayed the mold on the floor joists above, although that cost extra. The problem arose when the foreman came to rear of the house to see the patio to be removed. He seemed completely surprised at its size and told me quite frankly that they were not given its dimensions, and so had no way to haul that much concrete away that day. The fact that they didn't have the size of the patio is bizarre, since an inspector came to our house twice (once to quote, the other to sign documents) and had measured the patio both times. The workers broke up the concrete and said they would arrange for someone to come out and remove the concrete-- also frustrating as I'm a teacher, and this work was being done the very last weekday of summer break. Now I can see how miscommunications can happen, and I understand that the workers couldn't haul away the material that day. That's not my issue. My issue is that here we are Wednesday of next week, and not only does my back yard still look like the apocalypse has hit, but they didn't even call to schedule anything! I've heard nothing! When I called them myself at 4PM I was sent to the scheduling people only to get a recording and a voice mail! When you mess up, it's only a problem if you don't make it right, and these people seem wholly unconcerned that they messed up and left a huge mess in my back yard. I understand that the removal of concrete isn't their forte, but this is just silly. Update: After calling, they scheduled an appointment to haul away the concrete the next week, and while they did it, the representative was really pushy trying to upsell me on tons of extras. If I ever need work done on my foundation again, I will definitely find someone else. I suggest you consider doing the same."

"After looking at our two repair jobs, Nosh explained in detail the work he proposed to do and the cost for each.  He discussed the options with us for fixing the front porch brick, and we agreed with his recommendation to replace all of the bricks rather than a piecemeal brick by brick replacement (about half of the bricks were bad).  Nosh impressed us with his knowledge and professional manner, so we decided to have him do the work. 
Nosh started in immediately, going to three different brick sources until he found bricks that would be a close match to the bricks on our house.  He started work on the porch promptly the next morning, arriving early in the morning and working until late afternoon when it started to rain.  He returned early again the next day and finished the chimney late that afternoon.  When working on the chimney, he had planned to replace 5 or 6 courses of bricks on the chimney, but found he had to go down about 9 courses instead (he had to buy additional bricks to complete the job).  He did not charge for the extra bricks or additional labor.  He also discovered a cracked section of flue, which he replaced for only the wholesale cost of the flue liner.  He also replaced one brick on the front of the house that had cracked, and again didn't charge for the extra work.
We are very pleased with the final result.  Nosh did excellent work, and clearly takes great pride in doing a quality job.  He goes the extra mile to make sure everything is right, and when he finds additional unforeseen issues, he corrects them to make it right (the cracked flue liner is a great example).  He leveled a section of concrete sidewalk in front of the porch, and reset and secured the concrete step up to the porch at no extra charge.  He took the time to find the right bricks to match the bricks from 2 decades ago used on our brick house - you'd never notice the bricks had been replaced.  Plus he's a fun guy to talk to.

"I called him initially and that was one of the reasons I liked him.  I had broken concrete on the back of my house where the cement slabs off the basement were broken off.  He gave me a quote on that, but he said more importantly I have cracks in my foundation and I said no I didn't.  He took a little hike around the house and he pointed out the places where the bricks were even spread apart & water could get in.  I couldn't afford to do both.  The concrete in the back had to break it up and removed & then put the cement again.  He could have gotten more doing that, but he said what's more important that if I can't do both then I should do the foundation repair.  I felt that was honest.  He was very professional and a nice man.  He was here every day himself.  He said he just doesn't send out guys.  He did a lot other work himself.  I didn't have to pay anything until the job was finished and I was completely satisfied, so that was really good.  He walked around with me when it was all done and made sure that I was happy with the job.  I didn't price anyone else, but I felt it was fair."
