"Bret came out, explained our options and gave us an estimate. Greg and James were very quick, clean and professional. They explained what they going to do and did an excellent job. I wish I would have called them and had it done a lot sooner. I highly recommend their company."

"Excellent! The concrete cutting crew on the second installation did not place floor protection on the entire path and I had to clean up a lot of mud in my gym. That was a small inconvenience that could have been easily avoided, but the system and the workmanship are excellent"

"Chris and the team were exceptional. The city marked slabs that would require fixing or replacing so I contacted Ace Mudjacking. Chris came out right away and took a look, gave me an estimate and said he could do it right away. No payment until the completed work would pass inspection. Ace Mudjacking saved me a ton of money, and Chris is just the nicest man. I highly recommend this company."

"They were very good, and were the most affordable. Tony was very knowledgeable, and did a very nice job sealing it because they also had to seal the concrete against my brick wall, and actually did it beveled so it'd look nice."

"After looking at our two repair jobs, Nosh explained in detail the work he proposed to do and the cost for each.  He discussed the options with us for fixing the front porch brick, and we agreed with his recommendation to replace all of the bricks rather than a piecemeal brick by brick replacement (about half of the bricks were bad).  Nosh impressed us with his knowledge and professional manner, so we decided to have him do the work.
Nosh started in immediately, going to three different brick sources until he found bricks that would be a close match to the bricks on our house.  He started work on the porch promptly the next morning, arriving early in the morning and working until late afternoon when it started to rain.  He returned early again the next day and finished the chimney late that afternoon.  When working on the chimney, he had planned to replace 5 or 6 courses of bricks on the chimney, but found he had to go down about 9 courses instead (he had to buy additional bricks to complete the job).  He did not charge for the extra bricks or additional labor.  He also discovered a cracked section of flue, which he replaced for only the wholesale cost of the flue liner.  He also replaced one brick on the front of the house that had cracked, and again didn't charge for the extra work.
We are very pleased with the final result.  Nosh did excellent work, and clearly takes great pride in doing a quality job.  He goes the extra mile to make sure everything is right, and when he finds additional unforeseen issues, he corrects them to make it right (the cracked flue liner is a great example).  He leveled a section of concrete sidewalk in front of the porch, and reset and secured the concrete step up to the porch at no extra charge.  He took the time to find the right bricks to match the bricks from 2 decades ago used on our brick house - you'd never notice the bricks had been replaced.  Plus he's a fun guy to talk to.

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

After a concrete leveling project in Romulus, MI, check that water drains away from your foundation with a slope of at least 1/4 inch per foot. The surface should have smooth transitions, and all injection holes must be properly sealed. A professional job includes a written warranty and shows no signs of re-settling after the first winter's freeze-thaw cycle.

Helpful?

To maintain your concrete leveling work in Romulus, MI, perform seasonal inspections. In spring, check for damage from freeze-thaw cycles and clean away salt residue. Seal any new cracks before fall, and ensure drainage paths are clear of leaves. During winter, only use concrete-safe deicing products to prevent surface damage. Proper maintenance helps manage the effects of local clay soil and climate.

Helpful?

In Romulus, MI, a concrete leveling project can impact several systems due to the area's clay soils. Watch for new cracks in basement walls or changes in door operation, as these suggest foundation shifts. Plumbing lines under slabs, electrical conduits, and even HVAC ducts in basements can be affected. Also, monitor drainage systems like sump pumps, which are common in Romulus homes.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Romulus, MI, often weigh the benefits of polyurethane injection against mudjacking. Polyurethane is more durable for local freeze-thaw cycles but has a higher initial cost. Another trade-off is choosing between a partial repair to save money now versus a complete leveling for long-term stability. Deciding to wait can also risk further damage as clay soils shift with the seasons.

Helpful?

In Romulus, MI, immediate concrete leveling is necessary for safety hazards like trip risks over 1/4 inch or slabs pulling away from the foundation. You should also act fast if concrete directs water toward your home, a critical issue with local clay soils. Minor cosmetic issues without drainage problems can wait, but remember that Michigan's freeze-thaw cycles can worsen cracks over time.
