"Did a great job. Had to snake out the main drain because of roots that were blocking in the main drain twice to get it cleared out. He did a fantastic job and I would definitely hire him again......Thank You......"

"Excellent company! They came out in about an hour and replaced a bad pressure switch. They had the part on the truck. Explained how it works and fixed it. The cost was far less than I expected. Alex was polite and thorough. I'm happy!"

"Mike was informative and timely in all of our conversations prior to the installation of our French drain. Our backyard held a lot of water after heavy rains due to natural grading and our clay soil. With significant rain in the near term forecast, Mike was able to squeeze us in to insure we would have to push the install back until the water had a chance to dry out (normally a week +). Friendly & professional crew. A definite recommendation from us."

"Though more accomplished than expected, the workers surprised me with a failed result. They couldn't put the project back together correctly; everyone saw something was off. Outside the stall looked fine, but the tile they "replaced" was actually the original, just poorly handled. They left the last row unfinished after hitting a curve hard and breaking the tile apart. Instead of using a diamond saw for a clean $400 straight cut, they took a shortcut that ruined the piece. The tile broke jaggedly, so they tried to hide the damage by burying the break line under piles of caulk and extra material. Now, the fracture is "leaking" through the mess. Worse, they left a metal tool inside the assembly, blocking water flow. While the drain placement was okay, the plumbing is now a disaster. They tore up the floor unnecessarily when they could have just cut small plugs around the pipe, swapped the plastic, and used thinnest Because of their "gung-ho" attitude and lack of communication."

"HomeSpec did a fantastic job!! The initial visit was to assess and quote the cost. Everything was explained in excellent detail, and a quotation was provided. Basically the basement floor was removed around the entire periphery of the basement using a jack hammer. They removed the concrete floor coming out about one foot from the wall. Then a trench was dug down about eight inches from the top of the foundation, or below the bottom of the concrete floor. The new drain pipe was installed with pea gravel stones around the entire basement foundation to my sump pump. The original drain pipes were left in and continue to drain. The new drain pipe is basically sitting just above it and enters my sump pit. A large section of my basement is finished, and they were able to do this work without a major tear up (depending on your perspective). Basically they removed about 18 inches of dry wall, removed the base plate, with the wall hanging freely from the upper floor joist. They were able to do all the work I described above leaving the wall hanging. After they finished, they reinstalled a new base plate, drywall, and filled in all the joints with joint compound. All I have to do is prime and paint it. A couple final notes. They added about 5 flush out points around the entire system. This allows me to 1) see inside the pipe and the water level, 2) easily snake out the drain pipe if needed, and/or flush it out with a hose. This is a really valuable feature. The workers were great... these guys worked there tails off. The main work consisted of a Team Leader, with a crew of 3 - 4 guys. Communication was very good.. I always knew what was going on. They arrived between 8:00 - 9:00 AM everyday, and worked until 7:00 PM... one night until 10:00PM. Adding the new drain system itself took 3 days, and another 2 days to do the finished area with dry wall. This could have been done in one day, but the joint compound needed to dry... so they're limited. I am so please with the job this company has done, and it's a lifetime warranty that's transferable if you sell the house. Based on what I see, I'm very confident the problem is fixed. We just had some heavy rain over the weekend, and not a drop of water anywhere. For anyone experiencing the water seepage I described above, you can feel confident with HomeSpec to do a quality job, and fix the problem. One last note... this is a messy job. They do take every precaution to limit the dust and dirt by laying down plastic on the stairway, walkways, and covering everything in the basement, but you need to realize dust is going to be in the air. But, the job has to get done if you have this problem, and I was very pleased with all the prep work they did to limit the dust."

"The installation went very well, I am happy with the quality and design of the install. I had received quotes from a few other companies to install straps or I-beams, but Russ took the time to explain exactly what was needed. He wanted to install more straps than the competitor, but ironically it was at a better price. After researching carbon fiber strap installations, I found that his design would work the best (competitor wanted to use far fewer straps, but it would've resulted in 5-6' spacing, and 4' is recommended max). Precision was also very good about moving junk out of the way, since both walls had shelves that needed to be removed, etc. One thing I will say about Precision... I think they are very knowledgeable and good at what they do, but they don't have the a large operation like some of their competitors. That means, they don't have the additional staff manning the phones, scheduling, etc. So the company can keep their overhead low and offer very good prices, but on the other hand it can be difficult to reach them sometimes. Overall, I'm very happy with the installation, and will likely hire Precision Foundation Systems to do a bigger job very soon (helical pier install)."

"The two-man crew arrived in the morning, removed most of the old galvanized water piping and installed new copper piping mains and a functional bathroom by the afternoon. The remaining work was completed the next day. All demolition and trash was removed from the house. Our clean up consisted of wiping down surfaces and floors. This project went very well."

"As the representative of Bushnell Apartments, the crew of Jason M, Emmanuel B., Gibran S., and Kyle B. did a remarkable job installing our new drain tile and two sump pumps. They worked efficiently and meticulously in the preparation for the installation. They were very professional, kind, and respectful in completing this project. The foreman, Jason, led his crew in a very well organized manner. Professionalism is the work I would use to describe the work performed by this crew. All debris was cleaned up after the job was completed and Jason showed me the work that had been done. I was very pleased! I will recommend FSM to colleagues and friends. Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Most blockages can be cleared in 1-3 hours, but severe issues may take longer.

Sometimes, the drain is just too clogged—thanks, stubborn hair and soap scum. In this case, you’ll need a more powerful drain cleaner than you can DIY safely at home. But this doesn’t mean you have to choose a traditional drain cleaner.

You can find biodegradable drain cleaners at your local home improvement store or online for those drains that need a little more oomph

While on the hunt for a formidable drain cleaner, the best options are non-chemical clog solutions that combine enzymes and bacteria.

The cost to unclog a drain varies based on the location and severity of the clog. For simple clogs within your home, such as in a sink, toilet, or shower, hiring a plumber typically costs between $110 and $350, with an average of around $200. Snaking a toilet or sink usually costs between $110 and $275, while a bathtub or shower clog costs about $225.

For a more serious clog in the main sewer line, the cost is higher. Clearing a main line clog generally costs between $200 and $600, with an average of about $380. However, prices can range from as low as $100 for snaking a minor clog to over $1,600, particularly if advanced methods like video inspection and hydrojetting are needed for a large or hard-to-reach blockage. Some severe main line clogs can cost upwards of $1,000 to clear depending on factors like the cause of the clog, its distance from an accessible cleanout, and whether the pipe is located beneath an occupied space (e.g., in an apartment building). You may be able to save money on minor clogs by using a drain snake or bladder yourself.

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

Bleach—even diluted bleach—is not always the safest option for cleaning your drains. With a high pH, bleach can be highly corrosive to many types of pipes, especially when used regularly. When mixed with household cleaners and organic waste, it can also create dangerous chemicals. Remember to use proper protective equipment and ventilation when dealing with bleach.
