  Before putting the siding on, our home had T1-11 on it. We hired a contractor to repair sections of the T1-11 so that we could put our home on the market. Long story short, we had to fire our contractor for poor workmanship. Our home at this point was in terrible condition, and our only choice was to put new siding on our entire home. We did lots of research through Angie's List and received several quotes for both fiber cement and vinyl siding. Aztec Home was attentive to our needs (i.e. tight timeline due to needing to sell our home and move out of state) and extremely professional. Everyone was very patient, as we had a great deal of questions, and once we made our decision to hire Aztec Homes, the work was scheduled to start in 2 weeks (actually started sooner), and we were amazed at how quickly everything was completed. Both when the siding was done and the house was painted, there were approx. 10 workers on the project all day. The siding was complete in 2 day and painting in 1. All workers were nice and cleaned up after themselves. We were not living in the state when the siding went on, but the project foreman kept in good touch with and we were very happy with the results. Oh yeah, Aztec Homes' quote for fiber cement on our home was cheaper or very similar to the vinyl siding quotes we received, but with fiber cement we got a much better quality product that increased the value of our home more than vinyl would haveshow more

  Initial Contact Experience: Rick's callback on my initial contact was within 1 hour of leaving the message. We arranged a meeting the next day, he was able to modify his schedule to meet me at the house and was on time. Inspection and Estimate Experience: Rick and I walked the perimeter of the house as I explained what I thought I needed to be done. Rick acted as a consultant, providing helpful suggestions to achieve the final result described, but was always considerate of the budget I had stated. His suggestions at times increased the estimate, but we worked together to arrive at a set of specifications that resulted in a final price within my budget. I found Rick to be enthusiastic about the work done on my house, which excited me about the possibilities of what the final result would be. His suggestions on color placement and techniques to get the final result were helpful, and aimed at doing the job within my budget. Job Experience: Once the agreement was signed Rick suggested a consultation with the local Sherwin-Williams store. I had a color match done and emailed it to him. He responded that evening alerting me to the fact that the tech at the store provided a mix that was meant for interior, not exterior, and this color would fade within two weeks. He called the store, spoke with the manager and setup a time for me to discuss the color selection with the manager to make sure it was correct. Once the color was selected the job was ready to start. Rick called me to let me know the name and arrival time of the crew member who would be doing the power washing and prep. Once the prep was done, Rick called again to let me know the names and arrival times of the next crew members who would be doing the aluminum siding repair and the painting. There were several days of rain during the job, and Rick would call or email to alert me to the work stoppage, and let me know when the guys would be back on site. This is the kind of project management and communication I expect when I deal with anyone providing a service, and Rick followed-through every time. Also, Rick had his crew do things that added to the value of having him on the job. There were two ham radio antennas on the house that I wanted to retrieve, and Rick's crew took them down for me, without damage to the house or the antennas. Also, I was having large storm windows repaired while the job was ongoing, and his crew took down the second story glass for me to take to the shop. Job Quality Experience: After the job finished I noticed the incredible attention to detail and quality. Masking of areas was precise- no messed up over spray. They even painted the mailbox on my porch! Excellent finish, even around tricky trim areas on my Victorian house. They treated my house like it was their own. Rick Harstell is awesome!   Albert was extremely helpful throughput the process from initial review and quote to updates on the project timeline. We were willing to wait due to the impact of Covid and they were communicative with the understandable delay everyone is experiencing in availability of materials. They kept us informed throughout the process. The project consisted of removal and installation of new siding, new garage doors, outdoor light fixtures, new front door and garage entry door. Michael and Josh were on site and very professional and helpful with our questions or any concerns through the process. The workmanship was excellent and you could see their attention to detail. I have had other remodelers where communication has been a nightmare but not with Albert, Michael and Josh. I also want to mention Barry who was very diligent in figuring out a wiring problem with one of our light fixtures to ensure it worked properly. They were very meticulous in every detail and it shows. Will definitely use them for future projectsshow more

  Great from start to finish. Unlike some other bidders, there was no high-pressure salesmanship when we discussed the quote. There was some lag between signing the contract and starting the job but we were well informed ahead of time and project manager Jake Strank kept us in the loop about any schedule changes (there weren't many). The guys were above-and-beyond patient with kids and dogs hovering around the site. They finished the job when they said they would. The house looks beautiful. The quote originally sounded high but when I added it all up--2 or 3 guys per day x more than 2 weeks plus all the extras we wanted--it seemed more reasonable. Thanks Jake & crew! I hope you'll be available when I get around to replacing the rest of the windows and refinishing the porchshow more

  After consulting Angies List for roofing contractors and recieving six different estimates, I chose Palmer Construction to do the job. From estimate to completion I was extremely satisfied with every aspect of the job. Andy did a great job of explaining what would need to be done, what I could expect from the work crew and the different types of shingle options. Dan did a great job of managing the actual construction. I was very impressed with Jerimiah and the work crew... they showed up on time, where very respectful and extremely organized. Within a half an hour they had at least half of my old roof torn off. They took great care to protect the siding from the roofing debri and cleaned up so well, I was not able to find one nail or staple anywhere. I was very concerned about this, since I have dogs. (this was impressive, since a new roof was put on the building I do business in over a year ago and I still find nails around the building from time to time.) Some of the reasons that made me choose Palmer construction were their professionalism, right from the start. One thing that set them apart was that they took pictures of the old roof to show me the condition it was in and provided pictures of each step of the roofing process. It was nice to be able to see the details of their workmanship. Several of my neighbors have already made comments on how nice the roof looks and how impressed they were by how quick and organized the workers were.   Everyone I was in contact with from this company was very personable and polite. They were able to provide me with a cost estimate prior to beginning that included potential "extra" repairs that might be uncovered as the old siding was removed from the house. Well, as I had feared, the superficial water damage did penetrate the underlying sheathing and they had to change their plans and address the sheathing issue. Considering the time it took them to fix this unforeseen problem, their additional cost was very reasonable to get the house back together quickly. All in all, the project took 2 days and was completed in a very timely manner, their men staying until dark to make sure the job was done quickly and the house sealed from the elements. I wish I had used them years ago when I first noticed the problem as the new siding they installed looks much better than what was there to begin with. If I need more exterior house repairs, I will definitely give them a callshow more
