Customers say: Quality work

"I purchased a Big Deal and they came out. I informed them to let me know when the 2 hours are up so I can decide if I want them to continue. They came 2 hours early but the time frame they came I informed them it was possible that I might not be home. They charged me extra since there were two workers. One of the workers was outside smoking and on the phone. That was unprofessional because they were supposed to be working. The bottom line they did well but they left a mess downstairs and there is sawdust and electrical wires exposed all over the floor. He stated that most people do not expect him to clean since he will charge extra. I expected to clean some but not everything."

"Alex was excellent. Installed a plug for a generator and interlock switch on panel. Also installed a couple outlets. Was very friendly and did a great job and is very reasonably priced. Will definitely use him again for all my electrical needs."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

A light switch should be at least 2 inches from the edge of the trim of a door. The location of wall studs will often help determine where to put the light switch by your doorway, and in most cases, wall studs make it impossible to install the switch closer than 2 inches. When possible, try to keep the switch within arm’s length of the entryway.

In most cases, line wires are located at the bottom of a panel or device, while load wires are located at the top. Line wires are generally black, while load wires are typically red or black. To tell for sure, you can use a multimeter or volt pen to test the wire. A live or line wire will always carry a charge, while a load wire will only carry a charge when it’s in use.

Yes, you can connect two extra outlets (or more) to one outlet if the total load on the circuit allows for it. If you have a 15-amp circuit, electrical code allows up to eight outlets or light switches. But if you’re dealing with outlets in the kitchen and bathroom, you may not be able to have as many. Kitchen and bathroom appliances often need higher amperage. You can also change a single outlet to a double outlet by cutting a larger hole in the drywall and replacing the outlet with a quad receptacle.

Durations range from an hour for simple jobs to full workdays for significant upgrades.

Outdoor outlets should be at least 15-amp, but preferably 20-amp. The exact rating will depend on the electrical load of the devices that will be plugged into the outlet and the capacity of the circuit. It's important not to overload the circuit, which can cause safety hazards such as tripped breakers or electrical fires. In general, a circuit rated for at least 20 amps is recommended for outdoor outlets, while each outlet should be rated for at least 15 amps.
