We decided on the AquaStop Basement Triple Sump Pump fitted to the existing drain tile. With a deposit on the day of inspection, we were also able to finance the remainder of the cost, which helps us get through tax time. On the day of the install, Jacob called as promised to advise us of their estimated arrival time. The crew, Jacob, Dustin, Cesar, and Jaden, were efficient and responsive to questions. They explained all they had done and how each control worked. And best of all, they left the basement super clean after the work was done. Well done, guys, and well done FSM. "After a severe rainfall my wife and I discovered water was
forcing its way through the basement slab and in between the slab and cove
joints in our basement. Knowing that we wanted to eventually finish the
basement, I contacted five different contractors to assess which had the best
solution to keep the area dry.
In the end we chose Stay Dry based off the company's
proposed solution, experience, and positive review base on Angie's List. While Stay
Dry's solution was similar to what other contractor's quoted, it was superior
in that they used triple-walled perforated pipe--not corrugated--that was
installed next to the foundation footer as it should be. Don't let a
waterproofing company--in my particular case, Ayer's Basement Systems--convince
you that a drainage tile can be installed on top of the foundation footer and
function properly. Reading guidelines the Department of Energy and Oak Ridge
National Laboratory established for proper foundation water management, and a
little common sense, confirm this.
All of this is to say that Stay Dry proposed and installed a
system that is proven to work, and they did so with excellent workmanship. Jim
and his crew were courteous and professional in their conduct throughout the
installation, and I would heartily recommend them--and Stay Dry--to anyone needing
basement work. They literally went above and beyond the scope of what they were
paid to do. They installed a dry well for us, and then they took extra time to
move the left-over dirt to areas that needed improved grading to keep water away
from the house. Nowhere was this in the contract, but they did it free without
question.
I couldn't be happier with the quality of the finished
product, but there is one small thing that could have been done better from the
sales side. We decided to opt for the battery backup sump pump with the Pump
Spy monitoring service, but the Stay Dry sales rep did not disclose the fact that
the Pump Spy service itself included just a 30 day trial, after which there is
a $4.99 monthly fee. I was not made aware of this until I went to activate the
service online when the system was installed. $4.99 is not bad for being able
to regularly monitor the sump's activity and any issues that could arise, but I
do wish that the Stay Dry rep had informed me ahead of time. Regardless, I
highly recommend that anyone who is having basement water issues give Stay Dry
a call and rest assured that their work is worth the investment.

So only hire A Cap Plumbing if you want no corners cut and the project done at it's best. In addition to the work described, Jason removed an old tub only (no shower) and toilet. He installed a new toilet and surround tub/shower. He disposed of the old tub and toilet along with all the packaging of the new. Since the old tub did not have a shower, he added the additional plumbing needed and the new shower head along with a new control value for the shower/tub. "It went fantastically well, It did not take him long to find the problem and then solve it. He came in and look under the sink. Went under the house found the pipe shook it and said here is the problem. Hr removed a section of the pipe and found the stoppage removed it , repaired pipe and sink workes like new. Very knowledgeable and professional."

"After the water removal guys finished in came the project lead - Dave.? The office team re-worked projects and got us in early due to the continued leaking.? Added a temp cistern/and blast tube to outside in a matter of hours.? Returned on the planned date and finished the new drain system in 2.5 days.? Also installed the new, monster of dryness dehumidifier. Recommended the contractor to cut out water damaged drywall and repaint. Excellent work and cistern is running all the time as the water table defrosts.? A mess gone well Tom"

"To make a long story short, the day after he performed the above work another toilet in the house developed a very minor leak around its wax base. This toilet is directly above where he had soldered, in my basement, one of the new spigots to the existing copper pipe.
Bob said these were unrelated and I ordinarily would tend to agree. However, it seems unlikely a wax seat, which had never leaked before, would simply begin to leak on its own only hours after work had been done immediately around it. I was left wondering if he had used the toilet drain pipe as leverage while disconnecting the copper pipe right next to it (which took some force and some banging). I don't know how else to explain such an unlikely coincidence. The bottom line was I had a new problem to fix.
As for the toilet fill valve and flapper he replaced, he did not install the valve to code (not high enough in the tank) nor properly install the refill tube. The kit's instructions read: "WARNING: Do not shove refill tube down overflow pipe. This may cause significant water waste." Bob shoved the refill tube down the overflow pipe. He also used an older kit; newer, more water-efficient valve kits are available.
(To keep this review short, I'm omitting other aspects of his work I was also unhappy with.)
Bob did schedule and arrive promptly, which got me out of a bind as I was preparing to leave town, and he charged a fair price. But in addition to not solving one problem, he created at least two additional problems for me to fix."
