The project was comprehensive, beginning with excavating the lot and finishing with delivering a weather tight shell 5-6 months later, just ahead of winter. There were many challenges with non-standard construction details required to complete the build and to satisfy our own exacting requirements for achieving a well insulated and air tight home. Whether you choose to repair your garbage disposal will depend on the problem. For minor issues like a bad seal, you can fix the unit for less than $10. If the motor unit is broken, which can easily cost $150, you may want to consider replacing the entire disposal if it’s getting on in years.
