Very well. Very professional, really cares about his work. Most of the time, he was working alone so it took a little longer than usual but wasn't bad considering. I am not crazy about the brand of paint itself because it chips easily, but the paint job itself is excellent. He goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied. Really am very satisfied with the results. I would definitely hire again.

Barry is a great guy. I hired him to do some work on my recent home purchase which ended up being extended indefinitely. Barrys willingness to work with me on anything/everything that came up in the house was a huge plus. He jumped around the house to different jobs all of which were done quickly and for a reasonable figure. He always backed up his work and wouldn't rest until it was done properly. And he respected my budget and need to do some work myself to cut costs, even driving me to distributors to pick up material if it wouldn't fit in my car. Finish work is top notch and if there was ever anything he wasn't comfortable with he would bring in someone who is an expert rather than struggling through it himself. The highlight for the work done on my house thus far would be his work on the windows. I am a residential architect and Barry is going to be at the top of my list anytime I need a contractor or an opinion. if you're looking for a small contracting business that will work with you rather than check the boxes on the forms to get paid and can handle anything you throw at him, Barry Grieves is your man.

Barry rocked it.

Showed up on time each day. Very friendly and concerned that we were happy at every step of the way. Made sure that the end of each day things were tidy and clean.

The end result was high-quality and looks fantastic.

We were very happy with the price as well!

Barry was professional, prompt, and wouldn't stop until issues were resolved and resolved correctly. It was clear that he cares about his craft. He did an excellent job! Others would have left behind small problems for me seek him to fix later. My living room, basement and laundry room makes my house look like it's a new home. I hope I am able to use him on other projects.

I could not be happier with the work and service performed by Barry and his team. Starting with a quick response to my first e-mail, ease with setting up the estimate, and flexibility with scheduling the work to be performed. Once on the job site (which they started on the date promised), they were punctual, clean, and friendly. This was especially important because it is one of my rental properties, so they were actually dealing with the tenants.

We made some changes during the week regarding the work was being formed and Barry was able to accommodate the requested alterations with ease.

In summary, I thought they did a great job, enjoyed working with Barry and would highly recommend him and his team!

There were three parts of the job.  We were not satisfied with the quality of work on any of them.  The cast concrete front steps were particularly unsatisfactory to us, as they are tilted, rough (causing paint to chip), irregular (due to up to an inch of concrete accumulation on edges), and uneven in length by more than an inch.  They look significantly worse than the old steps that they replaced, which were decaying.

We accepted Barry's estimate on a Saturday.  Barry responded right away, started work on the following Tuesday and finished on that Thursday.  Barry and his team were very professional, clean, on time and on budget.  There was no wasted time while on our job.

We plan on having Barry out to do more work in 2015.

Emailed on 10/14 to set up appt for estimate.  Came on 10/15 to see what was entailed & emailed estimate in less than two hours.  Was able to begin work on 10/16 due to inclement weather (job in progress was outside).  Work completed by 2PM 10/17.  Did a great job on the cement work and painting.  Cleaned up all cement drippings on garage floor.  GREAT job!!

Both days Barry was on time, worked quickly and with as little dirt & dust as is possible for this type of work.  All work was completed and ready for painting.

Barry was prompt, polite and professional. He showed up the exact time he stated each day and worked hard and late to get it done. He did an excellent job and I would absolutely use his services again ( I plan to in the future for another ceiling needing work).  I would refer him to friends as well.  He cleaned up after himself each day and when he was 100% finished, he cleaned up to the point where you wouldn't know a contractor was even here.  He was an absolute pleasure.

Barry was my first choice for the work, but was hard to get a hold of originally by e-mail.  I found that text message was best for communicating with him.  Once we linked up, he was extremely prompt and courteous.  He worked quickly and did a good job.  He originally did not do a terrific job of sealing off the site to keep debris from travelling throughout the house, but he worked very hard to clean up afterwards taking lots of extra time vacuuming and sweeping.  His work when finished was done well and he even returned the next week to do several hours of touch up taking a lot of pride in his work.

This is the 3rd time I have used Barry for services.  I was in the process of having another remodel going at the time and needed some work done out of scope of that project.  I contacted Barry very last minute.  He worked to fit me into his schedule working longer hours to no impact the other project.  He was attentive, clean, and very detailed in his process.

Barry arrived promptly with his assistants, worked continuously, and neatly (great clean-up afterward).  He was careful to show me the extra damage that he uncovered and made sure all was replaced properly.  He is very professional and exacting in his work.  His fees are in line with the market and are well worth it.  Very trustworthy.

I most highly recommend Mr. Grieves.  He is professional, a perfectionist, and very knowledgeable about his craft.  I had six rooms that were seriously damaged by a broken pipe on an upper floor and he was able to work with my older home's special requirements (plaster walls and ceilings).  Mr. Grieves works non-stop and, with his advice and suggestions, I was able to repair my home with wonderful results.   Furthermore, I felt completely safe in leaving him alone in my home as he worked.  I have already put myself on his schedule for more upcoming work.  Excellent work!!

Initially, it looked like it was going to go well.  Then - he bought the wrong light fixture, despite exchanging texted photos. He came late on every occasion that he had to come to my house. I specifically asked if I had to clear out my cupboards and he said no - that he would be covering them with plastic - which he did - and then he took it down and even had to open the cupboard doors to do some of the demo work and sanding, leaving me with the entire contents of my cupboards covered in dust and debris.
He primed the ceiling, but did not paint it.
The mud from the drywall on the ceiling was dragged down a full 12 " in some points, but no less than 9" all the way around. He made no attempt to clean it or repaint the walls.
The job took 4 times as long as he stated, extending the disarray of my kitchen from one day to a full week due to scheduling issues. half of which I will allow for a sagging beam that he did not expect to encounter.  Even with that, however, the job was over-extended by his incompetence with an electrical circuit that miraculously worked on his second day of head-scratching over it.
Our discussions AND his written estimate included replacing the damaged siding on the outside. He would have left the outside untouched altogether had I not reminded him - and even then, all he did was go outside and squirt some silicone caulk into the holes, leaving the damaged siding in place.
I made the mistake of paying him in full - I should have withheld the funds until the job was completed to my satisfaction. When I wrote to him later about my dissatisfaction, he failed to answer the email, but left a voicemail that he would paint the ceiling. I did not want any more work from him as I no longer trusted his competence. I wanted a partial refund and he refused to comply.

Response from Barry Grieves Professional Home Remodeling
"This is a none member and had t he cable company pay for this work and claimed to have water damage not the case the kitchen was a back shed and her beams were so out of wack she thought it was water damage and I tried to tell her there was no water damage it was the roof beams and as far as having a kitchen in that room that should of never been aloud I was asked to sleep it look like Comcast was to blame I’d love to help everyone but if I couldn’t do it properly and it came out very well on the condition s I had to work with ceiling was 5 or 6 foot tops it was a back shed that’ Comcast paid for and wanted me to make it look like water damage fact of the matter was the back shed was collapsing and Comcast wasn’t paying for what I needed to do and what I needed to was tear the back down itvhad no water damage im always out to help anyone but I’m not a miracle worker And can only do what I can do I’ll help anyone but sometimes you can’t make everyone happy but I tried and Comcast got stuck with it a nd they shouldn’t have"

Barry was phenomenal. I decided to take on renovating my new house on my own. Let's just say that didn't as planned, ceilings on the floor and the wallpaper that i decided to tear down had apparently been the only things holding the walls up. So when I finished crying about destroying my newly purchased home, I asked a friends and family who to use. I had people come out and look at the place no one I really liked or trusted, and I went on to Angies list and found Barry.
Barry made me feel comfortable the minute he came in the door. He came out and did an extremely thorough inspection of the property gave me several different options as to what I could do to fix everything. His estimate was fair, especially considering the mess I had turned my home in to. He was able to come out and start the work immediately. He kept me up to speed throughout the entire process, and made sure to keep in touch with me throughout the entire process double checking to make sure that I wanted things a certain way or that I was okay with certain things.
It's very obvious that Barry is not only extremely competent when it comes to what he does but he also cares deeply about his work. He does his work with pride and it shows in the finished product. Without a doubt when I decide to take on my next project in this house I'm going to give Barry a call!

Showed up just a little late the first day because the job he was working on took longer than anticipated; otherwise was prompt or a little early, except one day when Home Depot was particularly busy, but called me shortly after the time expected to explain.  The drywall was installed well and the paint job was also professional; he went out of his way to get a storm window for that same room repaired for me when I told him I could not find anyone to repair it because of the large size.  Barry is not a talker; he comes to work and gets the job done.
I will hire him again next month and will review the new work when it is complete.

Everything went well from beginning to end.  What I like most was he was on time and if in the event something did come up he contacted me in a timely manner. The quality of work is excellent and little dirty and dust, and whatever dirty/dust he cleaned up. I will use him again and I have recommended him to several people. This is the third time he has done work for me and not the last.

The only thing I would change is I would have asked for alternatives before I bought the ceiling tile.  Barry thought drywall may have been a better approach.  I will not replace the tiles again but would call Barry to sheetrock the ceiling.

He did a great job. She selected a dark color which took a lot of time and patience so it did not look streaky. The room turned out great. He accidentally broke the radiator he took back to his house to work on and insisted on replacing it with another one in better condition. He is a true professional we would highly recommend.

He did an excellent job and the basement looks great. He even came back and painted my front door and did another spray coat on the wall  of my basement. His prices turned out to be less than what others would have charged and I would highly recommend him.
