"Man sent to do various odd jobs in Germantown--install blinds, TV mount, cabinet, etc.--was efficient and easy to communicate with. Did exactly what I needed with quality work and kept me informed of any problems he encountered. Price was reasonable."

"The work was excellent.  I truly got a big deal! The only problem I had was scheduling an appointment.  That is the downside of the big deals when it comes to small companies.  They usually have to schedule their own appointments; they usually don't have a secretary scheduling for them.   These guys answer the calls and do the work. I understand it, and would not let it affect the rating.  Yes, it was difficult for me to get an appointment with Honeywell; however, once they came out and completed the work, I was a very satsified customer.

"The Responsiveness is great. They are good with contacting you back with any questions, and they arrived at the scheduled time. I paid for time, so I had to buy the materials. The contractor gave me a list of items that I needed to purchase once he arrived. While I was purchasing the items, he started working on what he could. They do what you ask them to do. Nothing more, and nothing less.

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Retractable awnings offer numerous advantages for homeowners, including protecting your outdoor furniture against the elements. It can also help keep your deck in better shape since it adds a layer of protection against sun and precipitation.

Awnings offer a variety of materials to choose from, each of which has its own benefits. Cotton is a lower-cost option that’s also more eco-friendly because it’s made from natural materials, while acrylic-coated polyester and vinyl offer better durability against harsh weather. Fiberglass and metal are also resilient to weather, although metal can be vulnerable to corrosion without protective sealant. Ultimately, you’ll need to consider your climate and your budget in deciding the best material for your awning.

Metal awnings last much longer than fabric thanks to their durability and resistance to fading, sun damage, and damage from the outside elements. They also need less maintenance than fabric options. Both items add curb appeal to your home, but you shouldn't expect either type of awning to add property value to your home.

Yes, you can install an awning yourself, and it can be an excellent DIY project with immediate benefits. This is most feasible for smaller, pre-assembled units. However, awnings are often heavy and awkward for one person to handle, so you should always have at least one helper. If you have difficulty lifting heavy objects, professional installation is recommended to ensure proper mounting and durability.

Yes, you can replace just the fabric on an awning without having to replace the entire awning frame and hardware. This process will take a professional about one to two hours. If you want to DIY, it could take longer, especially for large or retractable awnings. Replacing the fabric on an awning can improve the look of your home and help naturally cool your interior and exterior spaces.
