Word to those considering a treatment tank -- we found about 2 months after installation that the treatment system had over-corrected and we then had extremely alkaline water (which yes is supposed to be healthy to a degree but it wreaks havoc on your hair). My husband and I both found our hair had quickly become brittle and dry and it took a bit of discussion to figure out the only recent change was our water treatment system. I called R&G back and they re-tested and determined we now needed a water softener system. They did install and that resolved all the issues. If I had one concern it is that the company should, based on their experience, anticipate something like that and at least provide the warning in advance or return within a week and re-test your water to determine if the over-correction had occurred. It would have been better to be so informed and pro-active about addressing rather than experiencing the effects of the alkaline system and then fixing. Also, would have been helpful to be able to anticipate the additional cost. Each water treatment tank is about $1700 - so ultimately we did have to expend twice as much as originally planned in order to arrive at appropriate pH levels. They are a good, professional and knowledgeable company. Just anticipate the potential for overcorrection and ask for re-testing after install so that you can make sure your system is where you need it to be."
