"I hired Michael Dickensheets of Winchester Remodeling to do a major renovation of my condo which consisted of a complete redesign of my kitchen (moving the location of every appliance), a full gut of two bathrooms (one with shower and one with bathtub), installing over 20 recessed lights and reframing a door on my laundry closet. Mike was easy to work with and very responsive. I consider my self pretty detail oriented and did a lot of research about renovations prior to hiring Mike. He didn't have many reviews so I asked him for two references who both spoke highly about Mikes work. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the final result. I would 100% hire Mike again."

When Clients call the Village Carpenter, they get me, Mark Letersky from start to finish on every project, as well as an immediate history of a way of doing business on a level where everyone is your Neighbor and they appreciate quality work at a fair price. We like and appreciate our Clients, so if you are just looking for cheap, inexperienced and unskilled labor, we ARE NOT who you are looking for your projects. We do honest work for reasonable compensation. Whether you need all of those little tasks on the "Honey Do" list done and over with, or an extension built on your home, the Village Carpenter offers a reasonably priced solution, great communication (cell, text, email) and all within a reasonable time frame. "Ghosted me and my client. Mark was hired by the sellers of the home my client was purchasing. He apparently had been the sellers trusted contractor for their time owning the home. The sellers hired him to complete a punch list of repair items. When we got to my clients final walk through, there were a handful of items that were not complete. We were assured that Mark was a reliable contact and for my client to reach out to him to make sure everything was taken care of post settlement. What a mistake. For months, my client and I tried to reach him. We did hear back once to coordinate a time, but once responded, nothing again. These were not groundbreaking repairs, so perhaps they weren’t worth his time, but the lack of communication has been very frustrating. I deal with contractors all the time and understand how some you need to chase down more than others, but definitely would not recommend Mark to clients of mine in fear of a similar experience."

"Troy initially visited and wrote up a very professional contract, detailed what kind of materials would be used and what work was to be done. David, the brother of Troy, was the person in charge on the ground. He is a nice fellow and a hard worker. The crew was impressive and worked together efficiently. They finished the job by the end of the afternoon. David showed me what they had done and Troy called to let me know that they had photos of the top of the chimney to send. I was pleased with the quality of the work and the friendliness of the whole crew. This is the kind of company you hope for. They tell you what is to be done in detail, specify the materials, and bring a large crew to quickly do quality work. I had other quotes which were lower, but did not specify in detail what work was to be done and what materials would be used. The professionalism of the initial contract convinced me that this company would do a great job. I am completely satisfied."
