"I hired Michael Dickensheets of Winchester Remodeling to do a major renovation of my condo which consisted of a complete redesign of my kitchen (moving the location of every appliance), a full gut of two bathrooms (one with shower and one with bathtub), installing over 20 recessed lights and reframing a door on my laundry closet. Mike was easy to work with and very responsive. I consider my self pretty detail oriented and did a lot of research about renovations prior to hiring Mike. He didn't have many reviews so I asked him for two references who both spoke highly about Mikes work. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the final result. "Ghosted me and my client. Mark was hired by the sellers of the home my client was purchasing. He apparently had been the sellers trusted contractor for their time owning the home. The sellers hired him to complete a punch list of repair items. When we got to my clients final walk through, there were a handful of items that were not complete. We were assured that Mark was a reliable contact and for my client to reach out to him to make sure everything was taken care of post settlement. What a mistake. For months, my client and I tried to reach him. We did hear back once to coordinate a time, but once responded, nothing again. These were not groundbreaking repairs, so perhaps they weren’t worth his time, but the lack of communication has been very frustrating. I deal with contractors all the time and understand how some you need to chase down more than others, but definitely would not recommend Mark to clients of mine in fear of a similar experience."

You can use small bits that are up to 3/8 inch in diameter, or larger bits that are 1/2 inch or more in diameter. Make sure the bits you use are coated with carbide or diamond; this information is usually visible on the package. You can also use hole saw bits to drill into stucco.

You can apply stucco to wood by wrapping it with grade D waterproof paper, installing trim accessories such as metal lath, control joints, weep screeds, casing beads, and expansion joints, and applying the stucco in three layers. You’ll need a scratch coat, brown coat, and finish coat, all applied with a trowel and screeded with a darby or straight edge. Each should cure for two days before you apply the next one.

If the culprit is dirt, stains, or small cracks, your stucco will benefit from a deep clean, quick repair, and possibly a paint job. If you notice large cracks or peeling, it’s time to call a professional to fix your stucco. They can guide you in deciding whether your issue is simple enough to repair or whether severe problems—like water damage and mold—require removing and replacing sections of your stucco, or the entire thing.
