"MaxAir was a breath of fresh air for me, after trying to deal with multiple HVAC companies that either weren't professional, gave me bad advice, or I just didn't trust. A friend recommended MaxAir to me, and although they were further away from my home address than I would normally go, I called them. It's been a pleasure to deal with them ever since. They seem to really know HVAC, and they are polite, punctual, and even put cloth booties over their shoes when they enter the house. They are also very patient, and were the only company to give me the level of detail that I needed when considering a new HVAC system. I have switched to MaxAir and gladly have an annual contract with them now."

I started "in tow" with my Grandfather and Great Grandfather instilling old school craftsmanship and hard core work ethic into a profession they noted, "will always be good for the Family." When Clients call the Village Carpenter, they get me, Mark Letersky from start to finish on every project, as well as an immediate history of a way of doing business on a level where everyone is your Neighbor and they appreciate quality work at a fair price. We like and appreciate our Clients, so if you are just looking for cheap, inexperienced and unskilled labor, we ARE NOT who you are looking for your projects. We do honest work for reasonable compensation. Whether you need all of those little tasks on the "Honey Do" list done and over with, or an extension built on your home, the Village Carpenter offers a reasonably priced solution, great communication (cell, text, email) and all within a reasonable time frame. "Ghosted me and my client. Mark was hired by the sellers of the home my client was purchasing. He apparently had been the sellers trusted contractor for their time owning the home. The sellers hired him to complete a punch list of repair items. When we got to my clients final walk through, there were a handful of items that were not complete. We were assured that Mark was a reliable contact and for my client to reach out to him to make sure everything was taken care of post settlement. What a mistake. For months, my client and I tried to reach him. We did hear back once to coordinate a time, but once responded, nothing again. These were not groundbreaking repairs, so perhaps they weren’t worth his time, but the lack of communication has been very frustrating. I deal with contractors all the time and understand how some you need to chase down more than others, but definitely would not recommend Mark to clients of mine in fear of a similar experience."

"Do not buy pella windows or doors. I had $28,000 worth of Pella Designer windows installed 21 years ago. Over time, the seal between the glass panes has failed, allowing moisture to enter and cause the window sash to rot. I contacted Pella, but they state that the 20 year warranty expired last year, and they will not provide any relief or replacement. However, the damage occurred during the warranty period, but was invisible until this summer when a rotted window sash literally fell apart as shown in the picture. Through some internet searching, I found that the Pella Designer series windows has had a long history of this problems, and consequently Pella has discontinued the line. In spite of knowing that these windows were prone to seal failure and the potential damage, Pella did not take any steps to inform me of ways to inspect and perhaps take preventive measures to prevent the damage from occurring. These windows were improperly designed, and the pella falls way short of the image that they present on their website."

They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

Details: I hired BPG Inspections in Pensacola, FL, to inspect a home I purchased in April. The inspection occurred in March, and I moved in during May. Within a few days of moving in – well within the 90-day warranty period – I discovered two issues that the inspection report had explicitly marked as functional: 1. The garbage disposal unit did not work (it made a soft noise but did not function). 2. The HVAC system failed to deliver air to the kitchen and adjacent bedroom, though the inspection report had indicated the air handling was operational and in good condition. I promptly emailed BPG about these problems, and while the inspector initially responded, I was then passed to their claims department. After repeated follow-ups, I finally received a call on June 23rd – nearly a month after reporting the issue – only to be told that neither issue was covered under their warranty. I raised the following concerns: 1. For the HVAC, the inspector had confirmed it was functional in an email, contradicting the claims department's later justification that it could not be tested. If no air reaches two rooms, it should have been evident during either heating or cooling tests – this was missed. 2. For the garbage disposal, I was told it was a "kitchen appliance" and therefore not covered, despite it being a fixture included in inspections. When I asked where the warranty excluded it, I received inconsistent explanations. At no point did the company offer to re-inspect or further investigate these issues. I expected more accountability from a professional inspection service – especially one offering a guarantee."
