"Chase did a great job repairing a failed pipe that splashed water into our home. He carefully examined every aspect of the problem, determined what needed to be done, fixed the problem and tested the pipes to make sure everything worked -- and all of this at a very reasonable price. We've been using PipeWorks for several years to deal with plumbing issues and they've provided great service at reasonable rates. We'll continue to contact them when we have a plumbing problem."

"When our boiler went out in the middle of a snowstorm, Troy came to our rescue! Incredibly professional and kind - especially given the terrible weather, he arrived quickly, diagnosed the problem almost immediately, replaced the board and restored our heat! All of this at a very reasonable price! Troy- thank, thank you, thank you! Needless to say, Troy has permanent customers- we can’t recommend him more highly!"

"I dropped the car off using their convenient night key depository, then picked it up the next day.  No sweat - no problems!
This is typical of the folks at ABS.  They are highly capable, efficient, very helpful (like free valet service to our home and back), and their prices are great!  Don't hesitate to give them a try - you will NOT regret it!

"I'd been experiencing allergy concerns and decided to have an air quality test performed for mold primarily in my home. Sometimes the air in my home, seems to cause my nose to run and eyes become somewhat irritated. The gentlemen, first listened to all my concerns and gave me some suggestions, due to another problem I was experiencing in my attic.  He looked in my attic and gave a few suggestions to correct a problem there. He said that he too noticed some nasal irritation in the air, as well. I wanted to first start by ruling out  MOLD, as the problem. He did not pressure me in performing an air test, at all. It was totally my decision and we both agreed that at least I would know whether to rule mold out or remediate a mold problem, if necessary. So I gave him my consent to conduct an air quality test. He said that he would conduct it on the inside ( top level hall area) and outside ( front of garage) to compare results. Two sample vials with air samples from the two locations were collected using a machine with free standing stand.  He left and assured me that he would physically  deliver the two samples that evening to an outside facility for a diagnostic analysis and said that I'd get the results on Tuesday, via email.  On Tuesday, I did receive the results, which showed that I had no MOLD. However, it did show that I had something in the air which could explain the symptoms I'd been experiencing. The report was very detailed and pretty easy to read and comprehend. I also called their office and a woman pulled up my results and reassured me that there was not a Mold problem. He left his card, should I need further service and he would quote an estimate, should I use his service for the attic problem. He was very professional, polite, and very attentive to my situation.

Boiler Repair questions, answered by experts

Pipes in your house can freeze after six hours or so if you lose power and temperatures are below freezing. You can prepare for potential power outages by winterizing your pipes with insulation. Also, whenever temperatures drop below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, turn your faucets on very low and leave them dripping until temperatures rise.

Probably not. Moving a boiler to a new location is a very different prospect from replacing it in the same spot, and significantly more expensive. Plus, boilers are typically carefully positioned in proximity to pipes and radiators when installed. Homeowners may want to move boilers to free up space, prevent freezing problems that have happened in winter, or solve a noise issue—but it’s a much more costly proposition.

In most cases, you should hire a professional to carry out services on your HVAC system, as the components are complicated, expensive, and potentially dangerous to work with. However, there are a few things you can do on your own to keep your HVAC system in good condition, including changing your filters every three months, keeping the area around your outdoor condenser clear of debris and plant growth, making sure your or intakes aren’t blocked, and keeping an eye out for increased energy bills, strange noises, and unusual odors related to your equipment.

Boilers provide even heating, energy efficiency, and a quiet operation compared to forced air systems.

Signs of needing a new expansion tank include visible leaks and a dull sound when you knock your knuckles against the tank (working tanks should sound hollow). A malfunctioning tank may also sweat with condensation, cause pipes to create loud noises when the system is turned off, and lead to very high-pressure readings on the boiler’s gauges. When in doubt, call for a professional inspection to find the source of the problem.
