"Wonderful company led by Chris. On time & courteous, careful of walls& buildings. Called same day to move a heavy dresser down the stairs, here with in the hour. Removed multiple pieces from basement within a few hours. His young staff of muscle laden men make the situation a breeze."

"Xtra Landscaping was amazing to work with. I actually contacted them 4 years ago but the project was out of my budget at that point. I spoke to other landscapers, cement companies, etc, but no one was able to match their pricing and level of communication. They had a CAD drawing for me after our first conversation and when I went back 4 years later they had it on file. Everything was easy and smooth. CJ was our foreman--the guy would NOT leave me alone communicating. It was hilarious. And Tim, the landscaper, was hilarious and walked me through it all. I would highly recommend--don't think twice. I know I did and I wish I hadn't!"

"Excellent ! Would definitely use again. I liked that he responded to my request immediately. He was the only one that reached out to me right away. The tree was removed the next. His price was reasonable. He talked to me about other trees that needed to be removed but was not pushy. Gave me his card and said to reach out if i need him again. Very pleasant and professional."

"I was vey pleased. The crew showed up and got right to work. They hand-dug out the bulbs I wanted removed, did a fine job pulling and removing all of the weeds that had come up in the flower bed, and made sure to level out the areas where they had removed plants. They finished the project with mulch, and again made sure it looked clean and professional. I asked for a quick trim on my Azaleas next to my deck, and they were happy to accommodate me. They made sure my yard was cleaned of all debris, and used a blower to get any loose materials. It was clearly a team effort, but the crew leader was excellent."

"Outstanding company! Bob the owner came out for an estimate for spring cleanup, mulching all the flower beds & tree removal. He was completely upfront on the cost for the project but finished the job on time with no problems! His employees are incredibly skilled & very nice! His price was very competitive compared to other companies that we have used in the past! We will be using them from now on! Thank you Bob!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

If your roof was constructed between 1930 and 1970, there’s a possibility that the shingles contain asbestos. If that’s the case, you should hire a professional for repairs and replacement, as they’ll have the necessary equipment to stay safe from such a hazardous and cancer-causing substance. If your home was constructed after this period, it’s unlikely that the shingles in place are toxic. In most cases, asbestos shingles are not recyclable, while standard asphalt shingles are recyclable.

Disposing of old paint, bleach, oil, and fertilizer should be handled by a company that specializes in this kind of waste. Many private junk removal companies do not dispose of these items. Because these materials are hazardous to the environment and dangerous to handle or dispose of improperly, you should confirm with your local municipality about places to take hazardous materials for safe disposal.

Some companies offer hazardous waste removal, but additional fees and special handling procedures may be required.

The EPA enforces hazardous waste laws and ensures people dispose of their hazardous waste responsibly. Depending on where you live, your state’s hazardous waste regulatory agency may also enforce these laws. Individually, it’s up to each household to properly dispose of their hazardous waste.
