All the crew members Ben Mott (was very knowledgeable, did the home energy audit, followed up with competitive quotes, which was adjusted to accommodate my request, offered BGE rebates upfront, patient and friendly to attend my calls and answer all the questions), Zam (Crew leader who did the exhaust fan installation), Tun (Crew leader who did an outstanding job to insulate the attic and basement), David (Crew leader who did duct cleaning and Aeroseal) were phenomenal and did an outstanding job. The end result is a day and night difference before and after the work and my BGE bill last month went down by more than $100 which is a huge cost saver. The HVAC does not run that much these days and the temperature is pretty even across the 30-year townhouse. I highly recommend Atlas home energy solutions for home energy audit and improvements."

"I accidentally broke the PVC pipe leading out of the condensation drain coming out of my air conditioning unit. (This may seem to be a minor problem, but that is only because you didn't have to haul the buckets of water produced during this heat spell to the sump pump drain.) I put in the request on Monday afternoon. They arrived first thing Tuesday morning -- early. It took them all of about 15 minutes. I could not ask for better service. They were prompt, professional, friendly, and courteous."

"Excellent service! I had a 26yr old A/C and Propane furnace that I wanted to update to an ALL ELECTRIC high efficiency heat pump. The price in the estimate was much higher than I was expecting, but they worked with me and brought it down considerably, provided I could accept an install slot in a couple of days due to a cancellation. Go for it, I thought! Unfortunately, it turned out that the estimator/salesman (who shall remain nameless) apparently got a bit confused and set up the equipment as a hybrid propane system - not the all-electric system that I wanted. Ugh. I only realized this when the installers had the indoor unit in place, and I saw the propane burners. Doh! So, I explained the situation to them, and they pulled the unwanted unit out and jumped through the hoops to order the correct unit and its accessories (wiring, breakers etc.), with no change to the price. They were very friendly and polite through all of this even though it meant the wasted work and that they had to come back the next day with the new IDU. Anyway, the final install all went well, and they were very friendly and respectful of the property and explained all the install details as they went (sorry Melvin, for all the pestering!) I'm very happy with the company and the installer's knowledge and professionalism. RECOMMENDED!"

"Rob was great from the estimate visit, to estimate delivery, and in coordinating the installation appointment (had to sub-contract in a roofer). On the day of service, Rob and Austin arrived on time (as did the roofers) and made quick work of the installation. It seems a rarity to find truly knowledgeable and friendly contractors that are both prompt and excellent communicators. This experience shined on all fronts. Will definitely be using Tim Kyle again. "Our first encounter with Len the Plumber for gas boiler repairs went well and lead us to purchase a service contract with them for the 15% discount. However once we needed actual plumbing services and after they provided their "free" HVAC annual inspection it all went downhill rapidly. As others have noted the %15 discount is a concept they don't really honor. We were charged $1100 for less than 30 minutes of work for a repair that only required one cut and a simple joint (We had already removed the drywall and trim for access) and about $30 in parts (which by the way good luck getting an itemized bill from these people). On the HVAC side they broke what was a perfectly functioning 4 yr old AC HVAC and then wanted to charge $1200 to figure out how they broke it plus whatever parts they dreamed up needed replacing. They tried to claim the capacitor was bad. BTW - they brute force discharge the capacitors on units as part of their "maintenance check", something they should never do. We had BGE come out since their info was on the installation tag on the air handler and they diagnosed the issue in less than 30 minutes finding the thermostat had been burned up by mis-handling by the Len tech. They also said they never brutalize the capacitors the ways these guys do unless there is already a suspected issue with it. That's because the capacitor could be damaged by the way they handle it at Len the Plumber. So the "free" annual HVAC check cost me 3 days of discomfort and $250. Len refuses to admit wrong doing and will not reimburse us. They got $5000 in fees from us in less than a year so they don't care if we leave because they know another sucker is just around the corner waiting to be taken. These guys should lose their license given their business practices. Stay away from them at all costs."

"Not Recommended for Thermostat Replacement — Unreasonable and Unfair $700 Charge I do not recommend Glenmont Air Conditioning & Heating for thermostat replacement work. I was charged $700 for a simple thermostat replacement, which I believe was unreasonably high and unfair. I was under the impression that the quoted estimate represented the maximum expected cost only if the technician had to perform additional wiring or complex installation work. If you want to install an Ecobee or any other type of thermostat, you can simply YouTube the installation, which provides step-by-step instructions on how to unwire, label, and rewire to the new thermostat. For my installation, I was under the impression that additional wiring might be needed, but it turned out to be a straightforward swap of the old thermostat with a new Ecobee unit, a process that took only about 15 minutes. Despite that, I was still charged the full amount. The Ecobee Premium thermostat itself costs around $250, meaning they charged nearly $500 just for labor, regardless of how simple or quick the installation is. To make matters worse, the installation only comes with a 30-day warranty, which hardly justifies such a high price. I tried to communicate and explain that this charge was unreasonably high and unfair, but they simply said, “It is what it is.” If you’re considering a thermostat installation, I strongly suggest hiring a professional through Thumbtack, where qualified experts can do the same job for under $150 with transparent pricing and good service. I expected fairness, honesty, and reasonable pricing from Glenmont, but unfortunately, that was not my experience."
