"We had almost 400 sq ft of tile removed and new hardwood floors put in the place. BR flooring had to tooth in the new hardwoods to the existing hardwoods in the adjoining area. After the install, the entire first floor had to be refinished, including the staircase and handrails, and a 2nd floor loft. the crew did the most amazing job. The floors turned out absolutely beautiful and Marcos and his crew left the house so clean. Barely any dust anywhere! If you're reading this and intend to refinish or install new wood floors, look no further. BR Flooring is the best!"

"Elegant Floors is an excellent company to deal with in all areas! Our floors look absolutely beautiful, the cost was very fair and affordable. Everyone we dealt with was fantastic. They were punctual, efficient, very professional and were very accepting of our needs. I had to reschedule the dates that work was to begin and it was not a problem at all. They were happy to provide us with the dates we wanted. The floors and house were spotless when they left! We can't say enough about how happy we are with this company. If we could give them higher than an "A" rating, we would, that is how pleased we are with their work and fair prices."

"Our garage floor had cracks and stains. My husband tried a DIY fix but it didn't do anything other than plug the cracks. The garage floor looked terrible and we knew that we couldn't sell our house with our existing garage floor. I contacted Stonghold and they carefully explained their process and what the floor would look like after they were done. I asked for a quote and they quickly came to my house and showed me various floor coverings. I loved the one I selected, they were very professional, and the quote was reasonable so I signed the contract. They showed up as promised and quickly went to work. In two days I had the most beautiful garage floor. Love the floor and Stronghold was very professional and delivered exactly what they promised."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Impervious or vitreous tile and vinyl flooring work best for the kitchen. These surfaces are non-porous (or have a very low porosity) that can stand up against spills, splashes, and plumbing leaks. Some natural stones are also a good fit, but keep porosity in mind. You may need to seal them to avoid stains and water damage to the subfloor.

The costs range from $3 to $10 per square foot, depending on the carpet type, labor, and subfloor preparation.

If you hire a professional to install a new floor, you can expect to pay between $50 and $75 per hour for labor. It takes two days on average to install a new floor as part of a bathroom remodeling project, but your timeline depends on your bathroom’s size and layout.

If the stairs are already covered in carpet, you will need to remove the old carpet and possibly the carpet pad. Any damage to the stairs like cracks, loose boards, or creaky treads may also need to be repaired. You may also want to sand and refinish or paint wood stairs before installing a carpet runner.

Vinyl floors last between 10 and 25 years on average when you care for them and protect them against water damage, though higher-quality vinyl can last longer.

If your vinyl flooring has heavy wear and tear or if it's peeling, it's a good time to do a reinstallation. Other signs your flooring is nearing the end of its lifespan include bubbling, heat-damaged planks or tiles, and discoloration.
