"I have used this company twice and I can not say enough good things about them. The first was when our heating unit went out in the middle of the one of the most freezing ice and snow storms last year. Everyone else we called---including Belair and BGE---wanted us to instantly buy a new HVAC system. Belair's salesman tried to take advantage of the situation and really overcharge us. Grove came out, fixed the unit and we moved on. While they made us aware that it would eventually need replacement (coming up on life expectancy), the problem was actually a minor one at that time. Similarly, when we had one of our units malfunction this past summer, even though it was one of the hottest days of the year, Grove came out, fixed it and again, gave a very fair price. What I like is that they are honest---not just out to take advantage of a homeowner at the most vulnerable time."

"I have had a service contract with McCrea Heating and Cooling since I purchased my condo unit new 7 1/2 years ago which included 2 maintenance visits a year. My current contract expired yesterday so I called to renew my service contract and upgrade from "Bronze" to "Silver." The representative took my charge card information over the phone. I asked if the contract was in effect as of today. They said "yes." Then I tried to schedule a service call (my unit was serviced a little over a month ago and now the condo wasn't cooling.) I was told then that the Silver Contract would NOT be in effect after all. The difference in price between Bronze and Silver is the cost of a diagnostic visit so they were getting the money one way or another. My long time history with the company did not persuade them to honor the contract I had just paid for. They wanted to charge me $98 to have my problem diagnosed under the Bronze contract that I pointed out was already expired. I was told the representative "misspoke" and should have told me they would have to send out someone to determine whether the furnace they have been maintaining for the past 7 years (with the most recent service call just a month ago) would "qualify" for the Silver plan. So, I cancelled the order for the Silver Plan. I called another company who came out for $30 and determined the problem was a clogged condensation drain. This drain was supposed to have been "blown out" when the regular maintenance was done by McCrea just a month ago, but obviously was not. The water was backed up in the drain pipe and filled the pan under the furnace/AC unit which turned off the AC. Now that everything is working again, I am seeking a different maintenance service plan provider. McCrea has competitive service contract prices, but if they have no customer loyalty, and the maintenance work is not done properly, maybe it's a question of "you get what you pay for.""

we had a leak problem and the tech came and looked over our equipment, fixed the problem and left. It cost us nothing and we have had their home heating service contracts for over 20 years.  They have NEVER ONCE not shown up or not helped and in the two furnace emergencies we had--they were here with in 1hr.

"Quickly responded to my ac issue. They advised me of the issue and recommended contacting the company who installed the unit as it might still be under warranty. Even though the repair (new circuit board) is expensive I appreciated their honesty in helping me with advice on the potential warranty with the original installer.
