"VKB far exceeded out expectations for our new kitchen design and installation; as well as, the resurfacing and stain/varnish to my existing floors and stairs. My wife and I are very pleased with the final outcome. Money was well spent. Base on our experience, I would not hesitate to recommend their services again. Jack and Suzanne McClinton."

"HBLLC went about their work in an extremely professional and detailed manner. The work was finished by the date promised. The written homeowner/contractor agreement would make any lawyer proud. The agreement provided a road map for the work that was to be performed; and HBLLC adhered to the letter and the spirit of the agreement. During the course of the work when necessary tasks arose that had not been foreseen; HBLLC immediately issued a change order to the original agreement. HBLLC communicated and kept me informed daily as to what work was completed and what still had to be done. I am loath to heap praise; however I lost count of the times I uttered the word WOW when looking over HBLLC's work."

"From the start to finish, we were very pleased. When Custom Home Creations Partner Garrett arrived, we were impressed with his thorough assessment of what work was needed and what we wanted done. His proposal was right on point with what we expected. The construction team arrived on time, were professional and they efficiently completed the project within the time frame we were quoted. We now have a beautiful, safe and secure pressure-treated wood deck and stairs and we look forward to staining it in early Spring. Here's our "Before and After" photos! We would definitely hire and recommend Custom Home Creations for future projects!"

"I have never been happier with a contractor.  The price was competitive and the work was A+.  Both of the initial projects were somewhat unconventional and they didn't have much to go on but what they created exceeded all my expectations.  I recently bought this 2-level house with my "kids" with the plan for the lower level be an inlaw suite for me as I will retire next year.  It was challenging to add a kitchen in the unfinished laundry room and a spacious closet within my budget but now my space has been transformed into a very functional and lovely home.  As mentioned by other reviewers, the owner, Elijah, is deaf and so were all of his crew members.  That was never an issue and we achieved all the necessary communications via email and simply writing notes to each other.  His crew showed up on time every day and worked diligently for 9 hours a day.  They were extremely polite and thoughtful.  Every evening they cleaned up as much as possible to leave my space still accessible.  On the final day, the crew spent nearly 2 hours cleaning up and organizing the garage where they had done some of the sawing and other tasks that created dust.  I was so impressed with that. I always expect construction projects to take longer than expected so I'm not bothered when they do.  Of course, in this case I kept adding projects to the original contract so it naturally took longer.  I'm hiring them again later this summer to remodel one of the other bathrooms.

"First, I had a high pressure salesman from another town (I didn't realize that until the salesman left) talk me into signing a contract before he would leave.   I had no idea the sales talk would exceed 3 hours.
The next day I had regrets and I looked up three local contractors and got through to two of them.   Supreme was the first firm I called and they answered the phone on the first ring.   They sent someone out two hours later to just look at the contract.   The representative assured me that I could do better than the estimate and that Supreme itself could better the estimate.    I told him that this time I was going to get three estimates, one of which would be his.    They had a special on shutters that was coming up so I scheduled Supreme's estimate last.
The other two competitors were good, but they too required a three hour session and I was getting really tired of discussing the pros and cons of vinyl windows that, quite frankly, all looked fine and were virtually indistinguishable.   What really concerned me, however, was that the two firms gave me virtually identical estimates and only after hearing about the initial estimate.   How does that happen with different firms selling different windows from different manufacturers?
At any rate, Al at Supreme came over and insisted that what we needed was composite windows given our neighborhood, appearance, etc.   They were a little more expensive but I was impressed that he "stuck to his guns" regarding what we really needed.   He gave us a good price and we signed the contract.
As for installation, these guys were pros.   They had clearly worked together as a team for a while.  They were in and out within 5 hours, having replaced 22 windows and 12 or so outside shutters during that time.   I was surprised that the house didn't get appreciably colder as they removed old windows and they used dropcloths everywhere so they left no mess at all.   The windows are just beautiful and you can just feel the difference.    I'm sure our bill will look better as well although we have not received one yet.
I had a question the day of installation and Al returned my phone call immediately, checked with the manufacturer and called back right away, setting my concern to rest.
From start to finish, they were professional, attentive, and authoritative -- no calls to managers, tortured negotiations, pressured sales, etc.   They knew they had a good product and they sold it without taking 3 hours to demonstrate insulation with heat lamps!

"I was introduced to Roland and his team through a referral from my realtor. My husband and I were buying a single-family rancher, and it needed some immediate work after closing on the home to make it wheelchair accessible. Roland met with me during the inspection, gave us a quote not too soon after that, and his team was able to start the work ONE DAY after closing -- amazing! We were able to move into our new home 2 weeks later, and Roland, Jon and team were able to complete everything within 3 weeks. Roland was communicative throughout the process and also was quick to remedy any concerns that we had throughout the process. I would recommend!"

"Price was extremely competitive.  I found my granite at another location and Bruno arranged to have it picked up and taken to his yard.  Once template was completed, granite was installed in less than a week.  Very pleased with the work, the customer service, and overall experience.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals offer design services that ensure cohesive appearances.

Hiring a contractor with knowledge about historic renovations and reviewing their previous work is important. You can find a historic home renovation contractor by calling your local historic preservation office, historical society, or any local historic museums nearby. The staff may have suggestions for specialized contractors who have worked for them. You can also ask them about historic home restorations that you have seen and liked in your area to get recommendations for pros.

The most common scale for residential blueprints is 1/4 of an inch equals one foot. This scale is the most popular because it’s easier for everyone involved, from professionals to homeowners, to understand the building’s actual dimensions. Also, it allows blueprints to have the necessary details without cluttering the page.

Villa exterior features often include large windows, arched doorways, patios, terraces, greenery, and gardens. Common exterior colors for villas are whites and off-whites, soft browns, and clay tones.

A split-level home is one that has several staggered floors connected by short staircases, while a split floor plan separates the primary bedroom from the rest of the bedrooms. Split floor plans are most often found in single-story homes, while split-level homes are always at least two stories.
