He called to say that he could do the service call on Friday evening instead of Saturday citing concern that we had no heat and the temps were going to dip that evening. He quickly identified the problem, expedited the parts delivery and even serviced our 2nd furnace which we did not realize was having issues until he inspected it while on site. I had a water heater die on a Saturday a couple of week ago. I reached out to Anglies List and promptly received four replies, this was the first one. I understood that being the weekend there would be a premium charge to replace the water heater. I own multiple properties and have been a homeowner for more than 35 years. I have had water heaters swapped out a number of times and have a good idea of the cost. When the plumbers arrived they saw a very accessible heater vented directly into the chimney. The venting did not need to be replaced, all that was needed was to remove the old heater, hook up the new one, and remove the old one with the addition of putting it on blocks so it would not sit directly on the floor. They showed me the tablet with a price of $2,450 which I said was "crazy" and I wasn't interested in having them do the work. They asked how much I thought it would cost and I said $1,500 at the very high end. He said there was no way they could do it for that. I still had to pay the $150 weekend surcharge that I believe should have applied if I had hired them, not for coming out and giving me an estimate. Every contractor is entitled to earn a fair profit, but suggesting a price totally out of line with costs and overhead is absurd.

We made the costly mistake of hiring Atlantic to design/build our hvac system. It cöst is 4x the initail rough estimate. We never saw the knowledgeable and courteous engineeer who sold us on the company again. Instead we were stuck with a haughty and inflexible designer who convinced us that we had no choice but to go with the system he sketched out. Now our backyard is dominated by compressors and our living sounds like Logan’s tarmac when the heat is working. Trusting Atlantic is the most costly and distressing mistake we’ve made as homeowners. Higher-ups at the firm are not responsive. Beware

Bob and the team at all-temp were great. Bob came out quickly and provided us with a quote that was $5-10k less than every other company that we received quotes from, with the exact same equipment. I had no less than a thousand question before we put our deposit down and Bob responded to each and every one promptly and professionally. His advice was spot on and even made a few recommendations on where we could save money like using a less expensive thermostat that delivers the same functionality as the pricier version. All of the work was completed in about 2 days. The crews were prompt, professional and left the basement cleaner than when they started. Even the electrical subcontractor was great - spending extra time to figure out how to run wire up to the master bedroom. All told, we got A quality work at a great price. Bob was also very helpful in ensuring we got all of the mass save rebates possible. Will definitely use them in the future.
