"The owner, Tony, is very nice and very easy to talk to, explains everything and keeps to his pricing.  I have watched him climb high trees and take limbs down so carefully that there is little to no damage of the lawn underneath (amazing, considering how large the trees were).   He is extremely knowledgeable and honest, plus he is licensed and insured.  I never hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.  I have been doing business with him for tree service and cord wood for approximately 10 years after one of my friends recommended him.

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

In Springfield, start your snow removal routine each fall by testing snow blowers, inspecting snow shovels for cracks, and restocking ice melt and sand. Clear gutters to prevent ice dams, trim tree limbs that hang over driveways, and mark property lines with stakes for plowing. Before winter storms, identify safe snow storage spots and check for uneven pavement that could cause slips, ensuring your home is ready for winter property maintenance.

Helpful?

In Springfield, you’ll find full-service landscaping companies offering seasonal snow plowing and ice management, specialized contractors focused on driveway and walkway clearing, and local handyman services for smaller jobs. Some providers handle roof snow and ice dam removal, while larger operators manage commercial lots with heavy equipment. Choose a contractor based on your property’s size, snow removal needs, and preferred level of winter maintenance.

Helpful?

In Springfield, focus on clearing driveways, front steps, and walkways, especially those with north-facing exposure where snow lingers. Pay special attention to low roof valleys prone to ice dam formation, basement window wells, and outdoor staircases. Don’t forget to keep access to mailboxes, utility meters, and emergency exits clear, as these areas are often overlooked but essential for safety and winter property maintenance.

Helpful?

Springfield’s winters bring frequent freeze-thaw cycles, heavy wet snow, and occasional nor’easters, which can create deep drifts and icy surfaces. The city’s mix of older homes and narrow streets means snow often accumulates in tight spaces, requiring careful planning for snow storage. Timely snow plowing and regular ice management are essential to prevent hazardous conditions and keep your property accessible throughout the winter season.

Helpful?

In Springfield, schedule snow removal when snow accumulates over four inches, or when freezing rain and sleet are forecasted. Watch for blocked walkways, heavy snow on flat roofs, or icy patches near entrances. If you notice snow drifted against garage doors or have difficulty clearing steep driveways, it’s a good time to contact a local snow plowing professional for prompt and safe service.
