"From beginning to end the project couldn’t have gone any better. In deterring the scope of the project, they listened to all our concerns, and devised a comprehensive plan to meet all our needs, not just simply an insulation replacement. The actual work crew was very friendly and respectful of our house and property. We alway got notice when they would arrive and were always on time. They kept us informed every step of the way with pictures of their progress. They let us know early on of one potential electrical issue with recessed lighting and worked closely with our electrician a couple days later to resolve the issue prior to actual blowing in of the insulation. Overall, a first class operation all the way and we already feel the benefits."

"I was plagued with recurring ice dams in a few areas of my roof. After investigation, it was discovered that the insulation in a few visible areas was sub-par. Roland came in and quickly spotted the problem areas. He assured me that the could fix these problems immediately. He used a combination of rearranging existing batts, blown-in fiberglass and spray foam to seal the attic space, over the course of two visits. He's extremely personable and always called me back or answered the phone right away."

"Vista was on time to all appointments.  The job grew from a new roof, to insulating the roof over the cathedral ceiling and bringing a saggy sun room roof line up to code.  My husband did a great deal of research regarding products and applications.  He asked for their recommendations before stating what he thought should be done.  My husband was pleased with the feedback from Vista on the proper way to correct the roof line as well as the insulation alternatives for a cathedral ceiling.  Colors were selected and a date was given for installation.
Installation went rather well.  Vista installed the wrong color drip edge.  My husband pointed out the error.  Vista stripped the material and reinstalled.  Luckily the shingles were not installed yet.  In our quote we asked for ice and water barrier over 100% of the roof.  He noticed it was only 2 courses up on the roof.  This was pointed out and the foreman quickly corrected the problem.
The crew was very nice and courteous.  As with any construction work, we feel that we need to keep an eye on the progress, so I don't think the errors of the drip edge and ice/water barrier were a big deal.  But if my husband was not home, it would have been missed.  This was all miscommunication between their salesman, distribution house and construction manager.  Overall they did a great job."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"Because we were doing complete new vinyl Siding,Windows, and Gutters, We were nervous who to choose. I found Carefree Home Pros on the Internet and set up an appointment with them. They took about two hours and were very thorough. Their prices seemed competitive and their products had good quality. I did have have a few questions about the company so the salesman arranged a meeting with us and the owner to put our minds at ease. Considering we live at opposite sided of the state it was a very positive gesture. We decided to go with Carefree because they had a great product, Competitive price and a good work ethic. Because were wanted Anderson 400 windows it took 4 weeks to get them, but once they were here they started work immediately and finished in two weeks, just as planned. The house was stripped of all old siding, plywood was replaced where damaged, and the house was completely wrapped with house wrap. They installed my new windows in one day! The trim on the house was done exceptionally well with lots of attention to detail. The workers were pleasant and courteous and cleaned up before they went home every day.
We would definitely use them again. Our Home looks great, our windows are draft free, and it even withstood a hurricane with no damage.

"Feb. snow and rainstorms caused a large ice dam to form on our North side roof, and we had water damage in both the master bathroom and the family room.
Both ceilings had water stains--and both were cathedral ceilngs--high and difficult to reach.  We also had some cracked plaster in the corner of the family room from settling,  as well as one corner in the kitchen. The very top of the ceiling in the master bath had some loosening of the drywall tape and "mud", and since we were at it, I asked them to include this, as well as a cleaning and replacement of light bulbs in the kitchen fan--again, too high for us to get to.  Inspection of the bathroom water stain proved to be not from the ice dam, but a problem with the installation of the bathroom fan and light by the original owners--use of too small a unit and no insulation, causing lots of condensation which leaked down and stained the ceiling.  Both rooms would need repainting of the ceilings and the family room needed a total repaint.  Touch-up of the bathroom wall where some nails had popped and needed recovering would be enough. They matched our 9 year old paint perfectly.
The men arrived punctually each of the three days it required.  They moved and/or covered furnishings and carpeting both in the rooms and in the hallways to protect  them and were very careful to keep dust and dirt to a minimum, and cleaned everything up each night so we could resume normal  living.  They did a great job with everything, and installed a new fan unit of the correct size in the bathroom--cleaned up my kitchen ceiling, and made the fan/light unit look like new. The men were courteous and good at their jobs and did everything we had asked.
Our house looks great again, and we are very satisfied with the company, their estimator Phil; Joe, their supervisor, and his crew.
We'd hire them again in a heartbeat!

"I needed insulation for my bathroom, and I have trouble with sheetrock. They removed the sheetrock in a timely manner and kept the mess contained to the bathroom (and did a good job cleaning up after themselves) and they installed a granite countertop for my bathroom. Everything was done correctly, they showed up on time, and were friendly. For the price I payed I would definitely recommend their services and will be a returning customer for future projects. 10/10"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Completing insulation service projects in Springfield yields immediate benefits like lower energy bills, fewer drafts, and more consistent indoor temperatures. Long-term, you’ll enjoy improved home energy efficiency, enhanced property value, and less strain on your HVAC system. Upgrading insulation also supports Springfield’s sustainability goals and may make you eligible for local rebates or energy efficiency incentives, making these improvements even more worthwhile.

Helpful?

In Springfield, insulation service projects should be prioritized if you notice unusually high energy bills, persistent drafts, or visible ice dams—especially after a cold snap. Homes with older insulation or signs of moisture buildup should act quickly to prevent further damage. If your home maintains steady temperatures and recent upgrades were completed, you can likely schedule improvements during Springfield’s milder months for best results.

Helpful?

For Springfield’s climate, consider blown-in cellulose or fiberglass batts for attics to boost energy efficiency. Spray foam is excellent for sealing gaps in rim joists and crawl spaces, while rigid foam boards provide moisture resistance in basements. Dense-pack cellulose works well in older homes’ walls. Always select materials that meet MA’s recommended R-values and include vapor barriers for added moisture protection.

Helpful?

New Springfield homeowners should begin by sealing gaps around basement rim joists and attic hatches, as these are frequent sources of heat loss. Upgrading attic insulation helps prevent ice dams during local winters. Weatherstripping doors and windows, plus insulating crawl spaces and exposed pipes, are also key steps—especially in Springfield’s older homes, which may have unique architectural features needing special attention.

Helpful?

Springfield homes built before 1980, or those with original single-pane windows, often benefit most from insulation upgrades. If you experience uneven heating, cold floors, or drafty rooms, your home likely needs attention. Energy efficiency assessments and thermal imaging are effective ways to identify where heat escapes, especially in attics, basements, and older wall assemblies common in Springfield’s historic neighborhoods.
