They removed the worn out hearth bricks and put in a beautiful piece of blue stone. Before and after pictures are on this review. It came out fantastic. I'm still stunned by the heat it throws out, I filled my oil tank in mid November and still have 1/4 tank left as the wood stove has immensely cut down on the boiler needing to fire.
