Customers say: Quality work

"Bob contacted us very quickly and arrived when he said he would. Gave an honest assessment of what we thought were foundation issues. As one reviewer stated " fair price for piece of mind." I will use his services for any issues or projects I have in the future and would highly recommend him to those needing an engineer."

"In renovating our beach cottage in Warwick, RI we found the roof needed structural work. Building inspector required a structural engineered plan. Adam was easy to communicate with. He was timely with his plan and follow up inspection. He was also available by text and phone for questions during the project. He was great to work with!"

"After an unusual situation arose at my home, I was concerned about the possibility of structural damage caused by drilling and new construction at an adjacent lot. After receiving a recommendation for Veitas Engineers from a trusted source, I called and scheduled an appointment. I am so thankful that I did. I continue to be impressed with the amount of time that the two engineers spent at my house, closely inspecting the exterior and interior. Within days, I received a 16-page detailed report which included drawings, photographs, recommendations, and action items. I was so pleased when I saw that the action items were categorized as structural and non-structural, that is, that the engineers included items beyond my actual structural concerns. I used the report when working with a contractor to follow up on the recommendations and action items. The contractor was impressed with the quality, clarity, and scope of the report. I am so happy that I chose Veitas Engineers!"

"John and Dennis did an incredible job renovating my home. The quality of the work was top notch but more than anything they maintained the schedule and completed everything on-time (there were some delays for inspections but they warned me in advance). I was most impressed with their attention to detail and e-mail updates documenting everything. They maintained an allowance schedule on all materials for the entire project and at the end I received a credit off the last payment. I highly recommend them."

"We started with a handyman company, but when the job proved too much for his level of expertise, we had him just tear down the current porch and turned to a real construction company to do the rebuild.  Their recommendation that we hire a civil engineer to design the mechanics of the buttressing work was their best advice.  We are now confident that this house will last for more generations.

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

Combining structural engineering with other home upgrades in Framingham can streamline your renovation process. For example, scheduling foundation repairs alongside basement finishing or coordinating roof reinforcement when installing solar panels can minimize disruption. This approach often simplifies permit applications, reduces the number of inspections, and helps contractors align their work, resulting in a more efficient project and a home that meets both safety and energy efficiency standards.

Helpful?

In Framingham, letting leaves or debris clog gutters can lead to water pooling near your foundation, increasing the risk of basement leaks. Storing heavy items against basement walls restricts airflow and traps moisture, while ignoring small roof leaks can cause hidden wood rot. Placing heavy furniture in one area or making unapproved structural changes can also stress load-bearing elements and reduce the effectiveness of prior repairs.

Helpful?

Completing structural engineering projects in Framingham significantly boosts your home’s value and buyer interest. Upgrades like foundation repairs, improved waterproofing, and finished basements are highly attractive to potential buyers. Enhancements such as open floor plans or reinforced roofs for snow loads also stand out in the local market. Proper documentation and adherence to modern standards can lead to faster sales and reassure buyers about long-term safety.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Framingham should prioritize a detailed foundation inspection, especially due to the region’s freeze-thaw cycles. Evaluating basement waterproofing and ensuring proper exterior drainage helps prevent moisture problems. Checking the condition of load-bearing walls, beams, and roof supports is essential, particularly in older homes. Reinforcing vulnerable areas and confirming that the foundation extends below the frost line are also important for long-term stability.

Helpful?

In Framingham, watch for widening foundation cracks, persistent dampness in the basement, or doors and windows that suddenly stick—these can signal shifting soils or outdated repairs. Uneven floors, visible bowing in basement walls, or rusted steel supports also suggest issues. If the work was completed before recent code updates or lacks clear documentation, it’s wise to have a structural engineer reassess the repairs.
