"Not only were they one of few answering my desperate calls on Saturday the 19th, Leslie (their incredibly sharp Project Manager,), returned my call and was able to get 2 folks here early (a 7am accommodation) on Monday morning to do the installation just in time for me to leave and pick family from the airport. They were prompt, professional, and personable! I now consider them my very own fix it angels, and have since had them back to do some additional work. They will forever be in my "fix it" speed dial, and I highly recommend them!!! Thank you TNTS!- A very happy customer

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.

Whether talking about a whole-house central vacuum or a portable vacuum cleaner, the expected cost of major repair work should always be balanced against its replacement cost. However, excluding high-cost motor replacements or major electrical trouble, repairs on a central vacuum system are typically far less than the cost of purchasing and installing a new one.

The best way to clean central vacuum pipes is to use a maintenance sheet to dislodge clogs and wipe the inside of the pipes clean. Alternatively, a professional can clean your central vacuum pipes for you.

If your central vacuum has lost suction, you probably have a clog in the system. You can remove a clog yourself using a portable vacuum cleaner or central vacuum maintenance sheets. Stubborn clogs or damage to the system require a specialized technician to repair.

Maintaining your central vacuum cleaner is crucial to extending its lifespan. Ensuring the filter is cleaned or changed often is vital to ensuring clogs don’t impact your motor. In addition, inspecting motor brushes regularly and lubricating the engine when needed helps keep it in tip-top shape. Finally, cleaning the central vacuum hose of dirt and debris helps keep clogs at bay, especially if you’ve vacuumed something wet or sticky.
