Quarry Hills Plumbing & HVACvery well - it was a bit of a drawn out process, since we had to have inspectors involved, but Natalie waited here while I had to go run an errand. Bill knew what he was doing and it's been working great! A couple years ago i had them come out and look at the air conditioner. They did a through inspection and couldn't find anything wrong. I was assured all was ok and didn't worry about getting told I needed false repairs. Basically, I trust them to do the work.- Laurie L.

Baker Elman PlumbingBaker Elman has been absolutely great ever since I started using them. Dealing with them is a pleasure. They're not like other plumbing companies I've used in the past. It's a family business and they really seem to care. They return calls, show up when they promise, call if they'll be late, bill per their estimates, etc.?all the things you'd like any business to do but contractors and tradespeople so often don't. They are also very good at what they do. David Elman is an extremely experienced master plumber, very knowledgeable. He listens carefully and is generous with his time to help figure out what to do to solve problems. His other plumbers seem excellent as well. His wife seems to run the office and she is uncommonly pleasant to deal with. They all are. I actually look forward to having them in my home (though not the problems that sometimes bring them here!). Among other work, they performed a complex installation of a freestanding gas heating stove. I was impressed by the careful attention to detail to make sure the project went smoothly. They were also suitably attentive in their dealings with the local building officials to avoid problems on that front. I give them the highest recommendation.- BILL S.

Boston's Best ChimneyMatt did the inspection and made a recommendation. He was very professional and clear in his explanations. It was not clear at first which size liner would fit our chimney, but his initial recommendation proved correct. He and his crew did a very good job and left the place clean. The price was half of what others had estimated, but he used state of the art materials, and seemed very familiar with the installation process both down the chimney and providing good hook ups for the heating equipment.- Mike G.

The Fireplace Guys LLCStarted a little slow, but this is their busy time of year - once it got going, it went very fast. Derek and his crew were very courteous and professional. I have had numerous people work on the fireplace and chimney over 40 years and none of them were as good as The Fireplace Guys. They laid down tarps not just in front of the fireplace, but all the way to the door! The sweep they performed before installing the fireplace was the best ever. I had tried to bleed the air out of my hot water baseboard system, and apparently have no idea what I'm doing and overpressurize my system to the point it popped the gauge off and stopped working. Called John, and he was there in short time, fixed all the damage I cause, actually taught me how to do things right, and was very fair about price. It's not often you find a plumber that responds, arrives quickly, does a great job, and is honest about price and helps you understand your system, even if it means that's less calls for his service. I would recommend him to anyone, and is the only plumber I'll call.

I can't say enough good things about Rich Mathews & Son. Our hot water heater failed and was pumping rust water through the lines in our house. We have an infant so needed clean hot water for baths and cleaning his bottles ASAP. When I called Rich he was completely accommodating and sympathetic to our bind. He offered to drop what he was working on and come service our system immediately without any surcharge or price gouging for expedited service. I called him around 8:30 am. He got the part and was done with entire job by 11:00 am so we could be on the road before traffic hit. He was completely professional and did a marvelous job at a very reasonable price, which he quoted up front. Highly recommend!

Made an appointment by clicking a link on Facebook. It was very convenient and easy to use. Steve im'd me right back to confirm the appointment. He was a bit late, but had im'd me 1st thing in the morning to let me know. he diagnosed the issue in 5 minutes and fixed the issue. He cleaned the unit, tested for carbon monoxide, picked up his equipment, and was gone within an hour.

This company is awesomely good. When my relatively new pool heater sprung a leak, I first called the company that I bought it from and that installed it. They told me that it was my fault it was broken, that there was no way it would be covered under the warranty, and that I had to replace the entire heater. That did not sit well with me so at the recommendation of the pool heater manufacturer I called New England Gas Systems. Bruce carefully dismantled the system, investigated the problem, and most importantly identified and explained the root cause of the problem. But that’s not all. They also went to bat for me and convinced the manufacturer to honor the warranty on the part that was broken, which was a huge financial savings for me. They ordered all the right parts, including the parts to fix the root cause, and efficiently put everything together so that the pool heater now looks and is working like brand new. I cannot say enough good things about the expertise, professionalism, and integrity of this company and its owner. They truly lived up to the ideals that you expect from a service provider and as a result have gained a new customer for life.

The project went really well. The replacement took one day, and the new furnace runs great. We also split one zone and had a hydronic heater installed in our kitchen. We could not be happier. Also, in inspecting every radiator, we found one radiator with a leak and one valve that needs replacement. Glad these company is thorough.

CMS Plumbing is excellent. I needed to replace my old water heater, and while doing that, I had three other jobs done as well. I reached out to about eight plumbers, and about three replied. CMS Pluming is the only one who visited my house (Dave, one of the owners of CMS) and the only one to provide a quotation in writing, rather than just an estimate. CMS Plumbing is large enough for someone (Lisa) to be able to answer calls during normal business hours, and professionally schedule the work, which was not an emergency. When Dave visited, he took the time to explain the various options. When Dave's plumbers came to my home, Dave stopped by to make sure that the work was going well, which it was. After all the work was done, there was a minor problem with the kitchen faucet a few days later. I called, they came over, and solved the problem in a few minutes for free. I highly recommend CMS Plumbing for major plumbing repairs and installations. They stand behind their work, which is well done. They are probably excellent for other work, such as emergencies and new plumbing, as well. Details of the four jobs: (1) Replaced my oil water heater with an electric water heater. CMS took responsibility for the minor electrical work, so that I didn't have to coordinate an electrician. I was without hot water only from the morning to mid-afternoon. They took away my old oil water heater, capped the oil line, and capped the exhaust duct. (2) Backyard spigot: they installed a new spigot and indoor ball valve for shutoff. The new spigot has its shaft through the wall and turns off the water indoors, so that if I forget to close the ball valve and open the spigot for the winter, I will likely not have a burst pipe. (3) New laundry plumbing replaced a dented pipe and included a shutoff valve that conveniently shuts off both hot and cold water if I'm leaving for a vacation, to avoid a leak from my washing machine or its hoses (4) Kitchen faucet was replaced.
