"They were excellent. They quickly made a draft that only needed 3 minor adjustments. The final product was exactly what I needed. They referred me to a structural engineer for review. The whole process took half of the time that they initially estimated. I would definitely use them again."

"Michael is an outstanding structural engineer and fantastic businessman. From the time of our first call through well after the project, he was professional and helpful. He clearly explained his process and made sure I was able to understand his conclusions. He went well above and beyond to make sure that we got what we needed to move forward with our next phases of work. In addition to providing the engineering diagrams we needed, he explained the math behind them in clear and easily understood terms. A man of integrity, he did everything he promised he would do and more. Hopefully, I won't have need of a structural engineer again in the near future but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to call Michael first."

"Great work; did a thorough job of repairing front porch red brick steps/stoop that were literally falling apart in pieces. The crew cleaned old mortar from existing bricks and reused all that were salvageable. Did not rush the job, and left the area clean afterwards. Owner stayed in communication throughout the project, immediately notified me when there would be a delay due to circumstances beyond his control (weather, staff out sick). Price bid for project was reasonable, certainly worth the quality of work done. Would certainly hire again and refer to others."

"I had 816 residential construction place 5 anchors in my finished basement wall. Their work was exceptional. Their crew kept the mess to a minimum both inside and outside. After they were done, besides the cuts in the sheetrock, you could not tell they had been there. The 5 holes in my yard were perfect rectangles and they carried off the excess dirt. I was impressed with their company from the beginning through completion. Communication was great and the crew was top notch. I highly recommend Them for you foundation work."

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

In Overland Park, popular structural engineering projects include open floor plans by removing load-bearing walls, finishing basements for extra living space, and adding storm shelters for tornado safety. Homeowners also favor large windows for natural light, reinforced roofing for hail resistance, and improved drainage systems to handle heavy rainfall, all reflecting local weather patterns and a focus on resilient, energy-efficient homes.

Helpful?

In Overland Park, structural engineering work often impacts HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems, especially if changes involve foundation repairs or wall removal. Watch for shared spaces where pipes or wiring run through load-bearing walls or near sump pumps. Coordinating with licensed professionals ensures all systems remain safe and compliant with local codes, minimizing disruptions and protecting your home’s overall functionality.

Helpful?

In Overland Park, address structural engineering projects immediately if you see foundation cracks widening, sloping floors, or doors that suddenly stick—especially after heavy rain or drought, which are common here due to expansive clay soil. Preventive upgrades or energy efficiency improvements can wait but should be scheduled before major remodels or if your home is over 20 years old to avoid future complications.

Helpful?

In Overland Park, schedule structural engineering projects if your home is over 20 years old, built on clay soil, or has experienced recent flooding or drought. Warning signs include new cracks in drywall, uneven floors, or persistent basement moisture. It’s also wise to plan an assessment before major renovations or after severe weather to ensure your home’s structure remains sound and ready for future updates.

Helpful?

In Overland Park, minor structural engineering projects like small wall repairs typically take 1–3 weeks. Medium projects, such as basement finishing or partial foundation repairs, last 1–2 months. Major work, including full foundation stabilization or adding a second story, can take 2–6 months. Weather delays and permit approvals, especially during spring and fall, may extend these timelines, so early planning is recommended.
