I found working with Micheal at H2K Services money well spent. I didn't want to rush in to a high dollar project without knowing what I was really facing where my foundation was concerned. I admit I was fairly stressed when I decided I needed a structural engineer. I was very happy to have a walk-through and discussion of my property. I got an excellent overview of the structure and function of my foundation (very concise). Once completed, I received a written review and explanation in a very timely manner. I rate H2K Services as high as is possible.

I hired H2K to do a structural report for taking out a wall in my kitchen. Michael came out right away and said it would take a couple of days for the report. He told us how he was available for any questions and concerns when we started the project, and the only extra charge would be if he had to come back. After a week, I contacted him to see how it was going and he said he needed a few more days. My husband booked vacation time so we could start the project as soon as the report came in, but after contacting Michael again, he still did not have it done and gave another date. After a month and more of phone calls and texts from us, we got the report. The report showed different beams than what we currently have in the basement (which he said was fine when he did his inspection). It was December before we were able to take more time off to work on the project. We went back over the report and went into the attic to verify measurements and we found a structural beam resting on the wall we are planning on taking out. Michael was in this area and if he had done a thorough inspection, he would have seen this beam as well. I emailed him with pictures and questions about this and the basement beam. Over the next week, I called each phone number I had available and left messages expressing the urgency of hearing back since we had specifically taken time off again to do this project. I even reached out to customer service to have them send a message. NO Reply. At this point I have wasted 3 weeks of vacation and $500 for a report that I cannot use. I will be hiring a different structural engineer to do the job.

We hired Michael to come out and draft up a plan to remove some walls and add an extension to my home. On the initial visit, we asked him to draw plans to remove the structural wall we then went in and asked him to go ahead and draw the plan to extend the kitchen out. He indicated that there would be an additional fee. This should have been my hint that this was not going to be legit. We paid the fee... He drew up the plans without stamping them. We decided to do the job in smaller increments and just remove the wall first and add the kitchen at a later date. We eventually got the plans for the internal wall removal stamped however when it comes to getting the plans for the addition stamped, he once again asked for additional money. Lack of Communication and Constantly trying to pull the extra dollar out of the customer to provide what is needed. Look elsewhere.

Hired Michael to do a preemptive structural report on our home before we sold it. Michael was very knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly. He walked us through everything he was seeing in layman's terms and provided excellent advice. Would most definitely hire again.

Michael came on short notice and traveled quite a ways. We were leaving the next day, so I really appreciated that he fit us into his schedule. He did a very thorough job of analyzing the structural situation of our rental house.

Michael is an outstanding structural engineer and fantastic businessman. From the time of our first call through well after the project, he was professional and helpful. He clearly explained his process and made sure I was able to understand his conclusions. He went well above and beyond to make sure that we got what we needed to move forward with our next phases of work. In addition to providing the engineering diagrams we needed, he explained the math behind them in clear and easily understood terms. A man of integrity, he did everything he promised he would do and more. Hopefully, I won't have need of a structural engineer again in the near future but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to call Michael first.
