"My well pump went out Monday evening, around 6:00 p.m. Hoosier Drain Guys were out of Losantville, relatively close to me in Middletown, and that's who I went with. Got a response within 20 minutes of posting my problem. A technician was scheduled to be here by 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, was here approx. 8:20 a.m., assesed the problem, gave me the breakdown (best case/worse case scenerio, which is how I like to approach things). Work began on schedule; had a few "bumps in the road" - but the problem was taken care of. I can't say enough good things about the customer service, expertise, and the peace of mind to know a bad situation was going to be addressed and solved. Fantastic company to work with; I highly recommend!"

Yes, a bigger well pump can increase water pressure—up to a point. If you currently have a well pump of 8 GPM, you might notice a pressure boost when you go up to 10 GPM. However, overshooting significantly (going up to 15 GPM for an 8 GPM home) can strain your well system and result in things like burst pipes that can decrease your water pressure and make for costly repairs.

A septic tank lid is often 1 foot underground, but it could be just 4 inches from the surface or 4 feet deep. For septic tank lids that are closer to the surface, you’ll have an easier time locating them just by looking for signs in the yard or using a metal probe. But for septic tanks that are buried deeper underground, you’ll need to hire a pro with specialized equipment to track down the lid without risk of damaging utility lines.

Septic tank costs vary with the size of the tank—and the size you need depends on the size of your household. The precharged pressure tank should start at around 28 psi. The two pressure settings of note are the cut-in and cut-out pressure. The well pump starts when the tank reaches the minimum cut-in pressure. It turns off when the tank reaches the maximum cut-out pressure. The desired water pressure in the household is usually a few psi above the cut-in number. The difference between the cut-in and cut-out pressure settings should be 20 psi.
