"I was recommended this company from a fellow person in my community. I text the number on a Saturday and received no reply, EVER. I ended up calling them a few days later (Thursday). I specifically told them I wanted someone to come out and give me a quote because we didn’t know what we were dealing with. They never said there was a service fee to send someone out. They told me they could do Tuesday and it would take 20-30 mins. The owner told the technician that we wanted an install and they came in and spent 2:45 here. No one gave me a quote they just said they were going to Lowe’s. I told them let me know if there was anything as I had to go back into a meeting (I work remotely.) They installed 1 line with a T to splice the line to the fridge form the RO system. They charged me $150 each for what says two lines! They did remove the old one and add a cap to it, but that just comes with installing a new one. You have to remove it to install the new line. It took TWO people nearly three hours to remove a single line and cap it off, and to install a line with a T. They did not have to drill anything as the holes were already in the floor! They broke a glass on accident, no worries. They picked up a part at Lowe’s that was missing items and had to go back for more parts. They then cut 45 mins off the 2:45 time. They did not clean up all of the glass they broke. They did not clean up all the water on the floor downstairs or in the cabinet. They did however soak up the water in the cabinet with a swiffer heavy dust pad. They did not ask for a towel or use the 2 rolls of paper towels to clean up the mess. They later told us that the charge details on the invoice don’t matter and to ignore them after we questioned them. $150/line somehow translated to $150/hr. If you do give a quote, and charge for it, try removing that total from the bill total if you win the job, as that is common practice. Just a suggestion. Most of this I can look over, but not listening when I specifically wanted a quote and then Charging nearly $400 is outrageous. Money is tight for most of the working class and even more so after buying a new home and a whole home water system. This should have been a simple quote that could have turned into an install. But they did not properly communicate to their employees and then it took much longer than it should have with two people. I am very pro small business and I am VERY disappointed!"

"We needed someone in a pinch to get our well treated and a riser pipe installed to be able to sell our house. We called Brummets and he sent guys out there to try and locate the well which they finally did after 3 weeks of digging 5+ holes in our yard and destroying it. Also our realtor had to threaten them twice just to get them to come back and get the job done. The riser pipe wasn't even installed straight because they (eyeballed it). When all was said and done, even with a $2,500 "discount" he still charged us $1,800 OVER any other any other reputable local plumber's HIGHEST quote. Our fault I guess for not getting a quote to begin with from a family friend. When all was said and done he was demanding payment 2 days after the job was finished."

We are a small family owned business, with 3 employees. We do not use sub-contractors. We are Licensed to do plumbing in Indiana. License # available upon request. We charge a $50 service call, and are competitive with or will beat other contractors prices. We will waive the $50 service for Angie's List members if we do the repair, if we do not do the job then we can not waive the service call but will reduce it to $25 for members! I promise we will match or beat any competitive quote in writing.

"Terry and Evan did a great job. The installation was done neatly and the disruption to our household was minimal. Both the work crew and the office personnel were nothing but professional. I had some non-typical ways that I wanted a few things done and they worked with me to achieve the best outcome. The equipment they specified is top notch and working great. My delay in writing this review was only because weather required that we wait to have the project finished until they could get on the roof safely."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If you’re wondering whether rats can come up the toilet, the unfortunate answer is yes, it’s possible, though it’s extremely rare. These rodents are excellent swimmers and can travel through sewer pipes in search of food, and they may follow plumbing lines leading to your home if they’re drawn by the scent of scraps and waste. The toilet’s U-bend holds a small pocket of air, which can help a rat catch its breath before making its final push into your bathroom. While more common in cities with larger rat populations, this can happen anywhere with connected sewer systems; sealing entry points and keeping drains clean can help reduce the risk.

Yes, rats can come up through drains. They can crawl through basement floor drains, lateral house drains, and roof drains. Installing rat blockers in your drains is the best way to repel rats and prevent them from entering your pipes. These are one-way valves that allow water and waste to flow out but keep rats from getting in.

A sewer line should be cleaned at least once every 18 to 22 months. The process takes about 30 minutes or up to 5 hours, depending on the size of the line, how easy it is to access, and how long it’s been since the previous cleaning. If your sewer line hasn’t been cleaned in a couple of years or you don’t even know the last time it’s been cleaned, it’s time to call a pro.

There are many things that could cause your basement floor drain to back up. One significant cause of a drainage backup is flushing non-flushable items, such as wipes, paper towels, and facial tissue. Other causes of a backed-up basement floor drain include tree roots impeding the drain pipe or an accumulation of hair, oil, and grease.

One way to save money on sewer lines is to install a sewer cleanout since it makes sewer line maintenance easier. Keeping up with maintenance is key to reducing the cost of repairs, so be sure to schedule annual plumbing inspections, install drain guards to stop objects from accidentally falling down drains, and only flush human waste and toilet paper to protect your pipes.
