"I contacted Service Plus/Hope Plumbing on a Friday around 4 p.m. after the gas company shut off service due to a leak, leaving my tenant without heat. They charged a $675 diagnostic fee (which they later offered to remove) and quoted $2,130 for repairs, promising the total would be no more than that. After more than eight hours on-site, they said all leaks were fixed and the line was holding pressure. An hour later, the gas company retested the line and it failed. Despite repeated calls, no one returned until Monday at 11 a.m., nearly 40 hours later. The new technician said the home needed a full re-pipe for an additional $1,500 and told us the account would go to collections if we didn?t pay for the failed repair. He also asked my tenant if she wanted the gas turned back on despite an active leak. I hired Absolute Comfort, who found and fixed the real issue in under 30 minutes for $650. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend them."

Within a month and a half, the unit's indoor head unit's coils started to freeze over and it no longer cooled the room. Bedell's team came out and tested the refrigerant pressure, which was very low, and recharged the refrigeration. No further diagnostic or leak testing done on this visit, despite a loss of refrigerant. Within a few weeks, we experienced the same problem (very little cooling and frozen over coils in the head unit). During their second trip out, they identified a leaky refrigerant-line flange attached to the head unit. They tightened the flange and recharged the unit. Three days later, same problem, except the entire head coil was frozen over after a running the system in cooling mode for an hour. It seemed like they made the problem worse. I scheduled another repair visit, which they blew off completely, without notifying me. I scheduled a second visit, which they blew off completely. When I called the lead HVAC technician, he told me that the owner had cut me off from service...that the installation had become "a thorn in their side." And that's the last I heard from them. I hired another company to inspect and repair the system. They immediately identified that the flange had been installed incorrectly and was leaking wildly. The tech's leak detector sounded like a Geiger counter at ground zero in Chernobyl upon entering the room! Before he even approached the system. They diagnosed and properly fixed the flange. I'm out an additional $1000, but at least now I have a system that works, and an HVAC company I can trust."
