"Dan with Jimdandi Painting was very knowledgeable and does Grade A+++ work. My garage floor was absolutely a mess with oil and all kinds of different stains. He was able to clean the floor and make repairs. The finish turned out great. It looks like a showroom floor now.
After he did my garage floor I knew I wanted him to do work inside my house. He helped me with color combos to get the effect I was looking for.  This room I spend the most time in watching games and I couldn't have asked for a better turn out. This room had some drywall repairs that were needed and a lot of sanding. He was very professional in making sure to keep the dust level down.
He also did my three bed rooms and the closet in my master bedroom. The master bedroom closet was left with a lot of unfinished wood and had a funny smell. He was able to get rid of the smell and give a nice finish to the closet. The last room I had painted was my living room. I had two colors picked out that I hadn't decided on in which he suggested an accent wall.
All my rooms turned out perfect. He was professional and all work was done in a timely manner. I would suggest using Jimdandi painting. I will be looking to get the outside of my house done in the spring time."

"After the initial consultation we decided to expand the job significantly to have the decks washed and painted, the exterior of the house pressure washed and painted, decaying wood trim removed and replaced, critical areas re-caulked, wall paper removed from 2 bathrooms and the dining room, those rooms plus three more rooms repainted, several water damaged ceilings repaired and repainted, one wall in the basement removed due to traces of mold and replaced and repainted, four short wooden columns outside repaired, water proofed and repainted, and a number of other small items that needed painting were also addressed. This was a huge job that was completed to our satisfaction over several weeks. That the job completion was this long was due in part to some rainy weather, to job and vacation conflicts, and to availability of necessary materials. When it was apparent that this job had grown so much that the original job completion date might be delayed, Danny marshaled extra workers and with that beehive of activity he was able to complete the job on time and to our satisfaction."

"The bedrooms were problematic because the tapes connecting the walls and ceilings were pulling away. These were corrected perfectly. A crack in a ceiling was fixed perfectly. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams were applied carefully without staining carpets or windows.
The outside of the house was power-washed the evening before painting. The next morning, 8 painters showed up and began caulking and scraping. Rotting boards were replaced. Wrought iron around windows, doors, and lights was scraped down to bare metal. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams were applied to the house and glossy black paint to the wrought iron. The work was carefully done, completed in one day, and the workers cleaned up nicely upon completion."

"We have been homeowners for 40 years and this was probably the best service we have received as homeowners. Their work involved prep and painting on a three story house. They also worked on three different deck areas. They completed all of the items in the contract and also replaced some rotted wood at the top of our house which was discovered by the workers on the roof. We had some questions during the six day process and they were addressed immediately by the owner of the business. Their work on our house was outstanding. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend C & Z Painting."

"Very professional and efficient. 2 1/2 days start to finish. Three colors: two colors on plank siding and one trim color. Four to five workers on-site and a supervisor at least once a day."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It is not always necessary to remove old stain before restaining a deck. If the previous stain is in good condition and is compatible with the new stain, you may be able to apply a new coat after thorough cleaning. However, if the old stain is in bad condition, flaking, or peeling, it is best to remove it completely to ensure an even surface and proper adhesion for the new coat. Staining over a damaged layer can lead to an uneven finish and poor penetration. For best results, test a small area first and consult the stain manufacturer's guidelines.

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

Whether to paint or stain a deck depends on your personal preference for appearance and budget. Stain provides a natural look with a range of undertones, is typically less expensive, and may only require one coat, but it does not last as long as paint. Paint offers a sleeker finish with a virtually unlimited color palette. Both options will protect your deck from outdoor elements like rain, snow, and general wear and tear.

An exterior paint job typically lasts between 5 and 10 years, though this can range from 3 to 17 years depending on several factors. The longevity is influenced by the quality of the paint and primer, the quality of the application, the local climate, and the type of surface being painted. For example, paint on wood siding may need to be redone every 3 to 7 years, while painted brick can last up to 17 years. Aluminum siding often needs repainting every 5 years.
