"We are very happy with the job Custom Colors did for us. For us, the most commendable aspect of their service was their attention to detail. The interior of our house had not been painted for over 10 years, and as a result, the walls and ceilings had a lot of issues. None of these were major issues, but there were quite a lot of cracks, nail holes from wall hangings, a few minor water stains, etc. Now that Custom Colors is done, our house looks brand new. There is not a blemish to be seen. The edges are very sharp. There aren't any splotches, etc.
Beyond the attention to detail, the crew was very polite, asking permission for minor things, like using our kitchen table to eat their lunch. (Of course that was fine, it was below freezing outside!) It seems like they have been working together for a long time, as everyone seemed to know what their role was, and were very efficient.
They were willing to do a few little extras, like wiping some grime off the wallpaper up high. (This room we were just having the ceiling done. The wallpaper stayed. But since they were already up there on the ladders...)
Being able to work at home, we gave them an extremely flexible schedule. We said we didn't care on which date they started, or how long they worked. So, I feel we can't comment on things like punctuality. Nevertheless, they arrived promptly at 8:30 each morning and finished the job sooner than estimated (around 3 days).
At the end of each day, they put the house back together as much as possible, even though we said we were willing to live around any mess. They took pictures before starting the job, and used them to arrange the furniture as it was before they started.
Since we can't really find any thing to fault them on, we gave them an A in every category, and would use them again if/when we paint again.

"Danny's Pro Painters provides exceptionally high quality professional work at a very reasonable price. Danny Juarez's workers were very detailed and thorough. They spent 2 very laborious days hand sanding a previously stained spa deck. After they applied the final second coat of the new stain, the deck looked absolutely beautiful without any indication of the previous stain. Their 3rd day, staining the fence and a large bridge was equally as beautiful. After completion, Danny Juarez walked with me to review the completed work to make sure that I was completely satisfied. I strongly recommend Danny's Pro Painters for both their quality and value."

"I'm really torn between a B and a C for this company. I'd honestly give a B- if I could. The salesperson that came out originally was extremely professional and did a great job, or so I thought, but it became apparent once the job was underway that there were miscommunications and it was not 100% clear to the crew what was to be completed. I was told the job would take 2 days to complete. The "crew" was only 2 people so I'm not surprised it ended up taking 4 days to complete. They used the wrong color in a couple of areas but this was easily fixed. I felt they could have been more professional such as laying down plastic sheeting, etc. over major walkways. They didn't even really use tarps much and ended up getting brown paint on our beige carpet, it came up but you can still see the stain a little. We will forever be finding white paint flecks on our hardwood floors because they guys were honestly sloppy. The end result looks ok but it was stressful getting there. The only saving grace was our project manager, Mike, who was very responsive and came out to the house several times and did his best to make sure we were satisfied. A for effort on his part but between the miscommunications and the quality of work done I can't say I would recommend them unfortunately."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Choosing whether your deck should be lighter or darker than your house is a matter of personal preference, as there is no right or wrong answer. However, considering the pros and cons of each can help guide your decision. Darker colors are often chosen because they show less dirt, footprints, and marks from daily wear, making them easier to keep clean. On the other hand, lighter deck colors tend to stay cooler in the summer. From a design perspective, using a deck color that contrasts with your home's exterior can help make the deck a more defined and distinct feature. Consulting color theory can also make the process of choosing a complementary house and deck color combination easier.

The longevity of paint on wood depends on factors like the quality of the paint, surface preparation, exposure to elements, and maintenance. Exterior paint on wood surfaces can last 5 to 15 years or more with proper care and maintenance. Interior paint tends to have a longer life span, often 10 years or more. Regular cleaning, touch-ups, and addressing any issues like peeling or cracking can extend the life of the paint.

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.

To make sure the paint won’t bubble as you apply it, make sure to paint on a day that’s cooler than 85 degrees Fahrenheit. When the temperature is too high, the paint won’t dry evenly, which can result in bubbles forming on the surface. Another way to prevent paint from bubbling is to clean the walls, apply primer, and let everything dry completely before you begin.
