"Jose called me promptly and look at the tree to be removed on Sunday in Mccordsville/Fishers. He called me back with an estimate. I then asked for another tree to be removed as well. They came two days later on time. Remove both trees and did cleanup and even clean the debris from our neighbor's drive. Also they checked and cleaned the gutters. Good job guys"

Emergency services offered

"After learning from KT Services the difference between powerwashing and soft washing, my house and garage were soft washed to remove accumulated grime and algae (north side) from the siding. The result is remarkable, and gaving my older house a clean, fresh look. The work was done with professional care and attention to detail. Even the house finches nesting under my awning were not bothered by the spraying; they returned to their undisturbed nest immediately. When I need to use any of the services offered by KT Services, I will certainly contact them."

"Based upon my observation, I will hire Michael again for a future landscaping project due to his dedication and attention to detail in picking up, transporting and planting a "Centennial girl" holly tree. Excellent communications throughout the process. His extensive background in landscaping and website highlight new project possibilities for my home."

"HV Landscaping did a great job with our fall cleanup and even removed a brush pile at a very reasonable price. Hope to work with them again."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Sewer lines can be buried anywhere from 18 inches to 8 feet deep, with a common average depth between 18 and 30 inches. The exact depth depends on local factors like climate and soil type. In colder regions, pipes must be buried deeper (below the frost line) to prevent freezing, sometimes as deep as 8 feet. The digging depth can also impact the cost of sewer line replacement. To find the specific depth for your property, you can check the building plans for your system, which should be on file with your city or local sanitation department since permits are required for installation.

Consultation with the local government helps identify necessary permits, avoid project delays or legal issues, and protect project integrity.

You can dig 60 to 80 linear feet by hand per day depending on the depth. Digging a 100-foot trench by hand will take you two work days, but it can take longer if you have heavy or rocky soil. If you’re digging a deep trench or one that’s over 100 feet, consider renting a mechanical trencher, such as a walk-behind or ride-on, or calling a pro for help.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

Trenches are typically 12 to 24 inches deep and 8 inches wide. However, the required depth depends on the specific project and local ordinances. For example, a French drain may need to be 18 inches deep, while a water pipe might require a depth of 24 inches and a drainage pipe 36 inches. Your city or county may have specific regulations, so it's wise to consult with an excavation professional to determine the correct depth for your project.
