Company came out promptly for the estimate and provided very reasonable quote for a sewer drain pipe replacement. Job was completed promptly and on time and to our full satisfaction. Would definitely hire them again for future work.

I used English 30 years ago for a water leak and I found them to be highly reputable and competent, so when I had sewer issues I immediately called Mick. They kept me informed about the work they were doing and were extremely professional and respectful. Would hire them again.

It went fine. It was expensive but from what I understand excavation is usually high. They came out on 9/21 and dug the necessary trenches and connected large PVC pipes that run down my front yard, join and then go into a gravel filled hole with a pop up above. They filled in the trenches which left some mounds of dirt in the yard. Waited until mid-October to let the ground settle and then they came back and leveled the yard, raked, spread seed and then put straw down. Very good job, professional, didn't waste time and overall work was excellent. Would use again.

I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this company is. I suddenly had low water pressure in the house and called the water company. They came out and said I had a leak. They turned off the water to the house. I called my home repair team, Home Experts, and they recommended English Excavating. Mark English came out less than an hour after I called and it was a Sunday afternoon. He said he would call the city to mark all of the underground lines in case he had to dig. No digging was required and the entire job was finished by 9:00 a.m. Monday morning. This company is one of the best I have ever worked with.

They were referred by another Angie's list company and I was given exceptional service that is apparently what they always offer. The job was completed in approximately an hour. I asked for additional work and it was performed without issue in a very competitive price. Everyone that was on site was professional and more than knowledgeable about my problem and how to take care of it. It was dug up and repaired and filled back in and concrete poured and finished.

I live in Meridian Kessler in a home built in 1925.  Ever since we moved in in June 2015 we have had issues with the basement floor drain backing up when a lot of water is being used in the home.  In late December it finally became a larger issue and unbearable.  After several attempts from another company to declog the sewer line were unsuccessful, I called Mick English (who was recommended by a coworker) for a 2nd estimate.  English's offer was HALF of what another highly rated plumbing company on AL's offer was.  It was very apparent that Mick knew what he was doing when he came out to check out our problem and my wife and I felt very comfortable with doing business with him based on his professionalism and what seems to be an expertise/specialization for English Excavating.
We were very pleased that we did business with Mick and his team.  They were professional and efficient and did a good job of cleaning up after such a major job.  They had to dig a hole 10 feet deep through my entire front yard (20-30 feet from house to sidewalk) and replace old original sewer line with a new PVC pipe.  They did it all in a couple of days, and were quick to respond to my call and get started on the work.  I would definitely recommend English Excavating for anyone in need of a sewer line replacement.

Mr English was awesome.  He said he could do pipe bursting, which was a bit more expensive, but it would save my landscaping.  He came out and did the project seamlessly in a few days with minimal inconvenience to my family and  a small mess in the basement.  It took 2-3 days, but in the end, all I can say is Wow!.   Everyone else wanted to tear up my yard and my brand new landscaping.  He saved it. Its been a year, we have never had any problem with our drains since then.   As for Mr English, he his the nicest guy.

After a few months of plumbing problems we finally found out we needed a new sewer line. After a few quotes we found English Excavating and they were the lowest by far. After checking them out we decided to go with them. The process was super quick and with in a few days I had a bunch of guys and machines in my yard. And the job was done the same day. My only disappointing factor was that I had a tree in my front yard and the person I spoke with originally understood that we wanted to try and keep the tree. The people that showed up was not the person I spoke with originally and told me the tree was probably going to have to go. After speaking with those guys we had decided to TRY and go around the tree but upon returning home there was no attempt to go around the tree and the tree was completely gone. While we were sad to lose the tree it was what caused all of the problems. Other than that we had a great experience.

I can't speak highly enough about English Excavating, Inc. and their owners Mark and Mick English.  Their excellent reputation precedes them.  Prior to the actual work being completed, at our home, several other general contractors spoke only with superlatives regarding English Excavating's capabilities, and the owner's respected reputation in the Greater Indianapolis area.
Upon arrival, at our home, they (and their crew of three) were instantly on top of the project.  I had complete confidence in their ability to problem solve, from the beginning.  Even the president, Mark English, was on site at least once or twice a day, to check on progress and offer additional suggestions to make the outcome even better.
The excavation project was scheduled to take two days to complete.  But mid-way, English's crew discovered even more xtreme "cheats" on the emergency egress window that the prior con-tractor had installed (prior to the con-tractor's breaching our written Agreement and abandoning the job site).  It added a third complete day to the schedule.  Regardless, English's crew worked hard and steady at making certain our home (and basement) would no longer suffer the indignities we had suffered from prior massive floodings, downstairs.
A special thanks to the crew, who worked hard and diligently in very cold and occasionally snowy weather.  Throughout, they kept their sense of humor and maintained a constant pace that got the job done in the most professional manner.
English Excavating, Inc. is in high demand, due to it being a very professional company -- with skilled, knowledgeable and proficient craftsmen on board.  I highly recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work to be done for residential or commercial properties.

Had to remove a section of city sidewalk for repairs, but did not have to dig in the street (which would have been BIG money). English installed a clean-check valve to keep waste from flowing from sewer into basement (as it does during heavy rains). Cleaned tree roots from drain and ran a camera through the drain pipe.

Mick English is courteous and responsive. The job was completed quickly once the crew arrived. They were friendly and answered questions. In addition I had a concrete slab that I was unable to move in my yard. The slab was there when I bought the house 6 years ago. Phil's team took care of it with their heavy equipment and disposed of it for me without hesitation.
"Phil's team 2" did a great job!
I highly recommend English Excavating.

We had good results with them. They did it and got it done and it is working. There were no problems. They did what they said they were going to do and charged what they said they were going to charge. I would certainly give them the opportunity to bid again.

I contacted English Exca vating about a hole that was showing up near my home over the last few years. This hole went under my front sidewalk and I keep filling it in over the last 5 or 6years. At first I had another firm out to raise the sidewalk because it sank. That company thought that it was a buried stump or trash pile when the house was built. Because this hole kept coming back I thought that I might have a bigger problem. When Mark English came out we found that the city had two sewer lines running in my yard and that of my neighbors as well. One line was the main sewer line and the other was a line that forces air through the sewer system to help move sewage to the lift station about a block from my home. At first Mark thought that it might be a problem with this line so we measured the hole after he removed the sidewalk and we checked it over the next several weeks .Mark also contacted the developer to find out more info on these sewer lines especially the one that forces air though the line. He also contacted the people who mark the utilities and conferred with them at lest twice due to some differences in the plans on these lines. Mark decided that the only way to find the problem was to go ahead and dig in the area of the hole. He found that my sewer line was cracked due to settlling and fixed it. In addition he scanned my sewer line to make sure that there were no other problems. he replaced the sidewalk. Mark spent a great time checking this out and I appreciated this because at first we thought that it was related to the city sewer system and not mine. Another thing which complicated this was that my builder ran my sewer out about 10 feet from my house and then did a 90 turn down along my driveway and under my front sidewalk which is not typical. The sewe5r line usually runs straight out the house to the city sewer not making a turn towards a drive way. The work was done well and everything was cleaned up and the sidewalk was replaced. I would use English Excavating again if I ever had another problem.

The job went extremely well and English Excavating left my yard in surprisingly good condition.

It was a very challenging project as there was a gas line and sump line to work around and there was only 5 feet between the house and property line.  They discovered that my fireplace foundation was very shallow.

Mark English thoughtfully solved all of the issues and did not charge me extra.  I am very happy that I hired this extremely experienced and reputable company.

I had originally hired D & H, but had to fire them after they took $300 deposit and failed to return my calls to schedule work.  I called several other contractors including English Excavating.  Mick was extremely professional to work with.  He did not require that I pay him a dime before completing the contracted work.  He has good customer service skills and is completely honest.  I had actually just had a baby on the date of service.  He was totally agreeable to do the work while I was in the hospital--that was a life saver for me.  I didn't want to listen to excavation work with a newborn at home.  He was agreeable and took care of the work while I was in the hospital.  His company deserves your business.  He even came in several hundred dollars below his competitors.  So, shop no further than English Excavating.  Learn from my mistake of hiring the wrong company to do expensive work.  Just hire Mick English and you'll get a true professional who is responsive, honest, and very easy to work with.

It went smoothly and didn't take very long. I could tell that Mark has lots of experience, and I didn't feel he'd steer me wrong or try to sell me something that I didn't need.  His assessment was the same as another top company's that I called for an inspection.
I have not yet hired anyone to do the work that is needed, but I will consider him when it is time to begin the project.
