"I hired Igor to install ceiling lights in three of my bedrooms on the second floor. He did a great job and even cleaned up any mess made. I will be calling him when the weather warms up to install a couple motion lights outside. I would recommend him for any electrical project."

"We needed some touch-up on the grout in our shower and along the bottom wall of the whole room. They came out and realized that we had a special color, so took a sample, got the correct match and came back to do the work. The work was very good quality and the room was left nice and clean. We really appreciated the fact that they wanted to do it right and it looks great."

"The team was very responsive in assisting the removal of a silver maple in my back yard. Came out and quoted the opportunity within a couple days of engaging them on the Home Advisor platform. After moving forward with the bid, the continued to provide communication even through a couple reschedules due to weather. The completion of the project was smooth and they left the back yard in great shape. Iâ d recommend All Service Calls to my friends and family members."

"Super Green landscaping quoted me a reasonable price and performed a great job on the installation. They used a more intricate pattern than I expected on the walkway, which was a really nice touch. Overall, I'm very happy with the outcome."

"We hired Brown Enterprise to fix a front walkway that was poorly executed by a previous contractor. They were professional and timely and the walkway looks amazing. We are beyond happy with their work and would hire them again for other projects. The difference from the before and after is tremendous!! Highly recommend."

Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts

Failure to compact the soil during construction is the most common cause of leaning retaining walls. In addition, poor drainage can lead to excessive water pressure behind a retaining wall, pushing against it until it begins to move forward away from the soil it is holding back.

If you don’t backfill a retaining wall—either at all or adequately enough—the wall won’t drain well, and water will be able to pass through it. Poor drainage will lead to a warped wall or a buildup of hydrostatic pressure, which can eventually collapse your retaining wall. If you have particularly sloped land, consult a structural engineer to ensure your hardscaping is adding value to your home.

With foundation walls, the slab on grade and force at the top of the wall is resisted by flooring. With retaining walls, the force at the top of the wall is not resisted.

Most railroad tie retaining walls have a life span of 20 to 30 years, though you may need to replace your wall sooner if it’s repeatedly exposed to heavy rain, runoff, and excess moisture. Railroad ties are typically treated with creosote, which makes them much more durable than untreated wood. Though they last longer, they don’t last forever. For the most longevity, make sure your retaining wall has a sturdy base and steel reinforcements. You should also install drainage to direct water away from the wall.
