The reason for control/expansion joints is to try to take the stress off of the entire slab. These are placed every 8-10 feet, and will ultimately crack, as this is what is intended/normal. We had to reconstruct what stairs going to an above ground pool that has been there for a number of years,. The inspector said that the stairs on the deck were not to code which had nothing to do with the concrete patio. We paid for a Carpender to come out to fix the stairs on our time again which had nothing to do because it was an existing deck. We also installed wood post for a railing that were also not on our contract that would did not charge. We have hundreds of very happy clients since 1996 . We are very easy to work with and we go above and beyond and every job."
