"Awesome experience; Jose was very responsive and showed us a lot of paint samples until we got exactly what we wanted. Showed up on time and finished early. His crew was hard working and very careful of not damaging anything. Cleaned up everything too. Will definitely use them again."

"Steadfast did a great job of painting two rooms but also filling a large hole in the ceiling and correcting/eliminating the moisture issue in the bathroom ceiling by using the right product. I would definitely recommend Steadfast."

Customers say: True professional

"We are returning customers of Brian Mull Painting and have been SO happy with the work they've done! We just changed the color of our main room, it was a darker blue and we had him paint over in SW Repose Gray. Although he didn't mention it I am sure it was NOT an easy job to paint over all that blue, and it looks gorgeous. They also did trim painting and touchups in the rest of the house. Brian and his team have a great work ethic, pay close attention to detail, and he was also very reasonable with his price for the job. Would highly recommend Brian Mull Painting- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way!"

Small jobs welcome

"I used Professional Painter for the second time. I hired them in March of 2024 as I stated in the review I posted at the time. Krystian is my painter for life. He arrived everyday on time. Almost every room in my house needed paint refreshing including base boards. After moving in we were left with wall dents and cracks. Krystian never fails he takes pride in his work and my house looks brand new. He loves painting I can tell. He checks each room one by one inspecting the finished product. His rates are very fair. He goes that extra step each time. No mess after he has completed the job. He is very clean and professional. I would use Krystian again in a heart beat. He has never failed to give his best. He is my family painter for life. Try him for yourself, you won't be disappointed."

"After taking a number of bids, I decided to go with Yolis C Painting. All positive reviews are well merited. We had him do some interior painting and the walls look like new. Outside trim: Admittingly, some of the old paint was chipping, but what we did not anticipate was that much of the wood had begun showing signs of rot (we own the house for 40 years). He repaired and painted it. If looking for fair pricing, professionalism, and detail orientated, they are the ones for you!"

"Eddie patched two areas in the ceiling. You cannot tell. He identified additional areas that needed to be repaired (and stayed with the original estimate), carefully inserted the patches, applied multiple layers of joint compound and a layer of tape, patiently allowing the joint compound to dry between each layer, sanded and applied prime paint over the area. He was neat and cleaned up during and after the project was finished. He was honest in his appraisal and sincere in his desire that I be satisfied with the job. Highly recommend him."

"Taulant did a great job with my small drywall project. He arrived last Saturday morning and finished the job later that afternoon. I will do my own painting and I'm confident it will look seamless once painted. I strongly recommend him"

"I have been working with Paul for well over a decade for all my painting needs. The quality of their work is EXCELLENT, and let me tell you, I am very particular. He always comes into every project with a great attitude, professionalism, and enthusiasm. I have shopped around a few times and I consistently find his prices are very competitive. In summary, Paul has that rare combination of quality, reliability, good manners, and a willingness to put in the work and do a great job. I cannot recommend them highly enough!"

Painting questions, answered by experts

Whitewashing isn’t permanent, but it can last for a long, long time. When you apply it correctly or have a seasoned pro whitewash your brick, whitewashing can last for 20 to 30 years or longer. Whitewash is very durable and typically requires little maintenance, making it a great project for most DIYers.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

Yes, staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan, typically by five to 10 years. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it can still fall victim to moisture, sun exposure, and rot over time. Applying a treatment creates a protective shield that helps prevent splintering, fading, and decay, preserving the wood's strength and appearance. A combination stain and sealer often provides the best protection, as it soaks into the wood grain rather than just sitting on top. This offers superior defense against UV damage and rot and lasts longer than a sealer alone. To maintain the wood's natural look, consider using a near-translucent stain. You should plan to reapply the stain or sealer every two to three years.

Regular cleaning, touch-ups for small defects, and resealing or repainting every 2-3 years help to maintain a vibrant appearance and protection.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.
