"Dan did a great job of going through everything very thoroughly with me and pointing out a plan of remedy for the aspects of my home that seemed most significant to least significant. I would recommend him in the future for anyone looking to get an understanding of their home energy performance."
"Jim Clay gave the most comprehensive quote for our insulation project. He suggested a couple of options which thought would help regulate the temperature in our home. He explained everything that ARC insulators would be doing to our home. He told us about rebates that would be credited to our bill because of a blower door pressure test and gas appliance combustion test. He presented a well-written quote. The technician for the tests and the technicians who did the insulation work showed up on time. They explained everything they were doing thoroughly. When the work was done, we did a thorough walk-thru before the techs left. We are satisfied with the work performed. We are satisfied with the money we paid. We would recommend ARC Insulation to anyone seeking recommendations."
"The gentleman that came to do the electric for my sump pump in the basement was a gentleman did great cleanup great work courteous kind very informative. This was the first step prior to having the drains put in. This was the Electrician and he was excellent."

"They were able to come the same day I called to schedule. I was visiting my daughter and while helping her do routine cleaning and maintenance around her house I discovered animal hair in the filter and on the compressor of the furnace, so I wanted the furnace blower and fan thoroughly cleaned asap. (This past winter I nearly blew out a furnace in a rental property because animal hair had built up and had jammed up the blower motor, blocking airflow, so for me this was a high priority job.) When he completed the service I was offered a routine maintenance program and the price for two service check and clean annually was to good to pass up. Plus they will call to remind me when maintenance services are due so I can't forget!!! That's great because of our busy schedules. I reccomend this company highly."
"Robert did a great job. He was very professional, explained each step of the process, notified us of an issue with our humidifier and helped us rectify it! Highly recommend!"
"Marco from R & G did an excellent job replacing the water heater at my rental property. I have called him many times for a variety of services at different locations. He is very professional, and I recommend him to anyone looking for HVAC services."

"Pete and the team are amazing. They replaced the whole HVAC unit in short time. They cleaned after themselves and are always responding to any phone calls. Pricing was very good and warranty which they give is non existent in this business. I would highly recommend them and I already did to few of my friends from work and they are also very satisfied with level of service, pricing and warranty."
Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts
Some types of electric fireplaces use more electricity than others. Models that produce 1,500 watts will have more of an effect on your heating bill than 750-watt models.
Electric fireplaces use an average of $1.85 of electricity every eight hours. These minimal operational costs aren’t likely to make a big difference in your electric bill—unless you’re using it as a primary heating source for your home and it’s running most of the time.
If you have central air conditioning, it’s fine to run your AC all day if that’s what you want—as long as the AC unit is in good condition. But if your AC runs constantly when you don’t want it to, there may be a problem with your system (like the ones we’ve mentioned above). Window AC units and wall air conditioners aren’t as powerful as central AC, so you should only run those kinds of air conditioners for eight to 12 hours at a time.
You can save money on heating oil through a combination of improving home efficiency and smart purchasing strategies.
Home Efficiency and Usage:
Improve Insulation: Ensure your home, especially the basement and attic, is well-insulated and sealed against drafts to prevent heat leakage.
Manage Your Thermostat: Use a properly calibrated and programmable thermostat. Lower the temperature by a few degrees, particularly when you are away from home or asleep.
Purchasing Strategies:
Buy in the Off-Season: Order heating oil during the summer months when prices are generally at their lowest. This strategy is most effective if you have a large primary tank or a separate storage tank to accommodate bulk deliveries.
Consider a Delivery Contract: Some companies offer contracts with a set price for the term. This can lead to savings if market prices for oil increase, but you might pay more if prices drop.
Attic and whole-house fans improve a home's energy efficiency and comfort. They ventilate hot air from the attic, which reduces peak cooling loads, lowers reliance on air conditioning, and decreases indoor temperatures. This improved air circulation and expedited heat exit helps lower cooling costs, balance moisture levels, and enhance overall natural airflow, contributing to the efficient operation of other home equipment.
Energy-efficient windows are judged on their performance according to a few different factors, including heat transfer, air leakage, light transference, and condensation resistance. If you're unsure whether a window is energy-efficient, look for an ENERGY STAR® label from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). If various products, including windows, meet energy-efficiency standards set by the federal government, the EPA issues this label to help consumers identify energy-efficient products.
